Ricon Steele

General Ricon Steele is in charge of Caligo, the ultimate enemy for the Spring Order, and a complete bloody mess. He does not consider himself qualified for his position, as he only was put in charge because everyone above him in rank died, or as he likes to put it, "everyone better for the job is dead." Very timid, he has multiple phobias including but not limited to poison, scorpions, his own blood, and extremely loud noises. However, should the need arise, he can usually push them aside to accomplish a larger goal. If he does not perceive a threat, on the other hand, he will happily faint in seconds. He's very knowledgeable in several different areas and exceedingly good at organizing, but falters when it comes to skills directly relating to his job.

Despite his many shortcomings, he always tries his best to do his job as well as possible and minimize casualties. While he does suffer nervous breakdowns every other day, his dedication and work ethic have garnered him the confidence of the soldiers of Caligo.

Kylofelis

The best way to describe a kylofelis is a kitty-ankylosaur-bear-panther, with the tiniest bit of monkey mixed in. They have two knees on their front legs, with the lower one capable of moving forward and backward for better mobility. The opposable digits with razor-sharp claws they possess enable them to climb and leap from tree to tree or to dig into rocks to climb up mountainous terrain. They have thick padding on the soles of their feet and can pull their claws all the way up off their ground to keep them from dulling or catching on debris on the ground. At the end of their long tail, they have a bony, hammer-like structure which both acts as a counterweight for balance and as a defense mechanism for dealing with potential predators and rival kylofelises.

Kylofelises have bright yellow eyes with lightish-gray scleras. Usually, their fur is a dark bluish-black, but some have brown, gray, yellow, or tan fur. There are even a few rare calico colorations. They are predators, but if necessary will eat fruits in a pinch or certain man-made dairy products, primarily cheese. At six feet tall at the shoulder, kylofelises are an imposing threat, but their appearance is a bit deceiving. As they are not at the top of the food chain, they are very open to symbiotic relationships with other species if they feel they can benefit, which is why Caligo uses them as their primary mounts. Caligo gives them a constant source of food, shelter, and companionship while the kylofelises in their care will carry them around, hunt, and fight for their human companions.

Papiliquos

The papiliquos is the main mount of the Spring Order. Despite having a horse-like appearance, the papiliquos is far removed from the earthen creature. Its smooth skin is comprised of small, hard, grayish-white scales and larger blue plating which can resist bullets and cuts to varying degrees. They have two sets of horns for defense against predators and fighting for mating rights against rival papiliquoi.

They can maneuver thick jungles, forests, desert sand, and marshes, as well as other places where the Spring Order’s vehicles can’t go. The pads on their feet give them excellent grip and traction when moving, however they possess no claws on any of their three toes. They possess a 4-foot long proboscis to slurp up water, nectar, ants, really anything liquid or small enough to fit in it. This makes them very easy to feed, a necessity for the Spring Order as they’re always tight on food.

Duellona

The planet of Duellona is an out-of-the-way earth-sized planet with lush jungles and relatively tame wildlife. The rest of the galaxy has basically ignored this small little rock despite its plethora of alien artifacts and beautiful auroras.

Cyrus Wheeler

Character Bio: Colonel Cyrus Wheeler is not a remarkable soldier by any means, but what he lacks in raw athleticism and tactics he makes up for in hard work and loyalty. He’ll follow orders without question and holds General Lenville in the highest regard. He likes to follow the rules and struggles with acting on his own without an objective or precedents for his actions. However, he cares deeply for Lieutenant Jessica Burdon and will do anything for her, making her the one exception to his obedience to the Spring Order.

Bruce Ryan

Character Bio: Bruce does not want to be in the Spring Order, or to be more specific, he does not want to fight. A natural coward, his preferred method of solving problems involves ducking and running for cover unless his fellow soldiers absolutely need him. He would always rather be back at whatever base he is currently assigned to helping with repairing armor, playing with metal alloy ratios, and doing whatever he can do to help that does not involve having to go into battle. Although he is not a savant with armor in the same way Jessica is with weapons, he is considered a specialist within the Spring Order, despite his young age. He dislikes having to kill in battle and wishes for the war to be over every day.

Bio: Citrine is a high-ranking officer in the Spring Order. She has proven herself time and time again to be one of the best soldiers they have, both in ability and attitude. She’s driven, determined to do whatever she has to in order to get the job done, and her entire life revolves around her job. She dives into work so she doesn’t have to face the emotional toil from everyone around her dying. She’s a very serious and capable individual, but struggles with her feelings about other people, leaving her closed off to her fellow soldiers and friends.
