Running. The open road, fresh air, beautiful fall colours, which were part of the joy of running this morning the 3 hours and 30 minutes as my last long run before this upcoming Sunday October 21 Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. I started running to raise funds for ALS Canada, when Charles got diagnosed with this horrific illness. Two years ago I ran my second Marathon in his memory. And this time I am running it to raise funds for @peaksforchange for our 7 Summits for Mental Health campaign, to benefit CAMH’s new acute care centre scheduled to opens it doors in 2020, and be one step closer to ending the stigma on mental health. Physical exercise and the outdoors has proven to help depression and anxiety. It also relaxes me, helps me focus my thoughts, helps me think and plan my week ahead and many times helps me find the solution for problems that are overwhelming me. And, when I run, I see gushing streams, and today I was amused of how many eggs can be found for sale on the side of the road. Sometimes if I have to run far enough like today, I get to reminisce on a property we had seen for sale, when we were looking to move years ago, which had this great studio built on top of the old silo. The studio had great views, was cozy and bright and I had envisioned writing there my best selling novel... but unfortunately the rest of the house did not feel like home, as much as the studio did....☹️ well please take some time to sponsor me for my run on the 21.... https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?registrationID=4192469&langPref=en-CA#&panel1-2 🙏 #whyirun #stwm #runTO @runcrs #camh #endstigma #als (at Silvercreek Conservation Area) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bo41WFPHsNt/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=164t34dgpde29
