Alice is to rethink Wonderland
Is there indeed new hopes in a metaphysical rebirth to explain the physical world around us? Before jumping into that hole at the base of a tree we might review when philosophy was the only handle on what we now know as empirical science. Such wonders as the early Greek cosmological view of a flat Earth, it took hundreds of years to reject before being overturned.
Here we are again with a "new metaphysics" and its promises to achieve new heights in understanding, a renaissance of thought as it were clinging to the hope that scientific reductionism only lacks better scientific methodology.

The fact is Christianity gave us a solid rock on which to view the observable universe without and within, it is called the Western Scientific Tradition and it trusts Biblical precepts. Must we hitch our horse to the wagon of metaphysical philosophy again albeit a new one?
