Exploring the Depths (Sai & Spike)

Artfight attack for @simplyender of their Yiga OC Sai (with my boy Spike riding in on the balloon)!

Where do I even begin with this one? Started as a simple concept and then I got WAY too into it and may have spent well over ten hours on this. I put some close-ups and design notes under the cut since there's a lot going on :))

I joke that Spike is work-place safety's worst nightmare, but he's actually pretty good about strapping in. I also had a lot of fun drawing the yiga magic that's keeping the flame emitters going 👇

And finally a few close-ups of the things they've already collected to bring back to the Hideout! I really liked getting into the details and adding their little dust motes etc
