had to make a separate post for this because,,, the way lucius reacts to badminton’s stories about bullying stede is just so,,

he looks so fucking livid about it, though he’s trying to hide it because he’s also really fucking nervous throughout this scene. but like. despite how anxious he is, he can’t help but almost glare at this guy for being such an asshole to stede.

he might have said he’d join in on the mutiny earlier but he really gives a damn about his idiot captain and i’m gonna cry about it.

re: last reblog I’ve seen so many variations on “omg look at ed realizing he’s in love with a nerd” about that scene. NO!!!!!!!!! ed is realizing he’s in love with a colonist!!!!!!! the text of that scene is stede making a token gesture of returning the fruit of jim’s land back to them and when jim declined stede was like “oh whew great I didn’t actually want to give it back!” in front of his indigenous love interest, who was like Yikes Well We Don’t Have Time To Unpack All That. come on now

I'm glad we're all on the same page about how stede is definitely going to find ed's silk in season two and keep it on his person with the intent of returning it to ed when they reunite..... except. I think. I think stede should keep it. I want a scene where he tries to give it back after they reconcile and ed's like. nah you keep it. you clearly take much better care of it than I do. and then stede continues to wear it for the rest of the show, tucked into his breast pocket at all times, right over his heart. I think that would be such a perfect little thing for the new stede. like.... he gets rid of all his finery, all his nice clothes, he's wearing the most simple outfit with no embellishments as a sign of him giving up everything that was holding him down, so he can pursue a new life in earnest with ed.... and then chooses to wear ed's silk as his one accessory. ed's heart is the only fine thing he needs.
