I can't help but wonder how the monsters would react to suddenly finding a little Igor running around Darkmoor after a magical/science lab accident lol

Hey @eeveeintheroses tysm ^^! I wasn't planning on turning it into a fic and im always open to exploring young Ygor whenever i have an idea for him! When I was sketching these I just wanted to explore his childhood a bit. I have drawn him again a little more recently here along with kid Victoria. That fic concept is a really fun idea though! I love the idea of him turning back into a kid and having been forced to go back to a time where he was somehow weaker then he already is. Im sure all the monsters would be scratching there heads but see him as an easier target lol.

Lol! Just imagine that sort of thinking is why child!Ygor is now sporting Dr Griffin's hat, and is wearing the rings of several vampires on a rope he made out of the Mummy's wrappings, and is just a nuisance all around. Little monster in his own right, hiding in the rafters he'd otherwise be too heavy to hide in, all so he can taunt poor Larry from above!

I mean, yeah, he's physically weaker than the monsters, but by your Kid!Ygor sketches it's safe to assume that he had to be street smart to survive with no family in a village of monsters, and he would be smaller then an adult, which means he most likely skidaddle away easier and get into smaller hiding spots that most monsters wouldn't be able to reach than he would as an adult, right? Sorry, my brain is just coming up with all kinds of different scenarios now!

@eeveeintheroses Hah dont be! I love them all! i can totally see him getting into all sorts of trouble like this. I definitely wouldn't underestimate him either, he was crafty back then and now hes got more knowledge to his belt. It might get to his head a bit though and he'll run into something. Hes just a little mouse and I love him ;v; Victoria's definitely gonna have her hands full with him. Who knows maybe I'll explore something like this later down the line :3

Ulla was a passionate scholar of science and a thaumaturgy enthusiast; so unlike the rest of the brotherhood, she had a rather open-minded fascination towards the moon opal. During one of their class sessions, she once shared to little Eugene that she had a theory: she believed it is still plausible that the moonstone can be good, can do good, can be used for good…if people only took the moment to try and give it a chance by putting the effort to understanding it, if…the right person learned to connect with it. Her wonder and curiosity influenced little Eugene’s understanding of how to perceive the moonstone, his father the king and the brotherhood always painted the moonstone in a rather negative light to him growing up but her perspective gave him hope—hence why when she passed away from childbirth and baby Varian was born sickly to the point that doctors could not guarantee if he’ll ever make it—the young prince had an idea… and did the unthinkable.

King Edmund was reluctant to apply any drastic punishment towards his very own son for obvious reason—and besides, he couldn't really blame nor resent the child for just wanting to help. He knew the little one was too innocent to grasp the dangers of the opal. However, he also understood that at the end of the day, it all comes down to the fact that young Eugene cared a lot; that he was just as scared as everyone else was of losing his little baby brother-cousin too soon in life because baby Varian was the only remaining remnants of his leya Ulla, she worked so hard until her very last breath just to bring this bundle of joy into the world, he remembers how excited she was for him to eventually meet him and he doesn’t want her sacrifice to be in vain.

And Quirin was forever grateful to the little prince for saving his child’s life so he vowed to serve him with utmost loyalty to show his undying gratitude towards the royal family of Umbra. As a father himself, King Edmund empathizes with Quirin and now he can see that his son’s action did came from a place of love and acknowledges it. Admittedly, it was unprecedented but truly was a miracle that the baby was back to health with the help of the moonstone; the young prince took a risk and it surprisingly paid off so King Edmund was willing to take a further look into this phenomenon, no matter how wary it makes him feel.

Though they still have a duty to uphold, to keep the peace in their kingdom as the royal family and to keep their people safe as the brotherhood; therefore in order to keep a close eye on this rather exceptional situation the king has come to the decision that they will treat baby Varian as one of their own from then on—with the moonstone becoming a part of the family, and by extension a royalty.

Is Finnian connected to the Grim Reapers? UPDATE AT END!

While watching Kuroshitsuji: Emerald Witch Arc, I noticed a significant change in Finnian's eyes. Since the beginning, his eyes had been a tealish green, only to grow greener as the show progressed. This was obviously due to an increase in budget and some slight alterations made to his character as the series progressed. It's a common enough thing in some shows.

What I noticed, however, was that in the current Emerald Witch Arc we are given more of his back story. He was a "prototype" for a potential super human experiment, only to end up having the scientists attempt to kill him upon being discovered by Ceil and Sebastian. While the other two "prototypes" were destroyed, Finnian managed to overpower the scientist and escape. His escape, however... was not what you would deem human - either super or otherwise.

[I tried to get an image of the escape from the anime but couldn't, so imagine the manga in full bloody colour.]

The way he crawled his way up the walls by his hands is almost demonic in a way, almost indicating that there was something supernatural involved in the experimentation. What's more, out of the "prototypes", he's the only one that seems to have green eyes. The other experiments have what is most likely blue or some other pale colour rather than the green that we know Finnian possesses - that or his eyes are suppose to be a dominating feature.

On top of that, whenever he gets in a "defense mode", his pupils dilate to the point that they resemble rings. Also, as the series has progressed and the budget increased, we see that they literally glow an eery green when in said "defense mode".

Specifically, they glow a bright green with faded rings.

Now who else do we know that has "phosphorescent, chartreuse-green eyes" that possess a glowing like appearance and even has some of the same teal in them?

Grim Reapers. Now I'm not saying that Finnian is a flat out grim reaper, but Finnain WAS injected with a lot of chemicals and other things when being experimented on. Hear me out. What if the scientists got ahold of Grim Reaper blood - possibly even supplied by the Undertaker (you know he'd be curious what the humans would do with it) - and in doing so gave Finnian some of the powers and strength of a Grim Reaper?

Another similarity is that all Grim Reaper's have garden themed scythes. Lawn mowers, chainsaws, hedge clippers - even the traditional Scythe was a form of harvesting/gardening tool.

And what is Finnian?

He's a gardener.

Maybe I'm way off the mark, but I think this would be an interesting character development for him, as well as an interesting comparison between him and Undertaker.

Both would be connected to grim reapers, both would be determined to try and give life - Finnian as a way to counter his destructive tendencies and Undertaker out of sheer curiosity- and both would have a Phantomhive heir who they are willing to protect no matter what. Real!Ciel with the Undertaker, and Our!Ciel with Finnian.

Anyways, what do you think?

EDIT: I was looking through the manga again and it just occurred to me that on top of everything I mentioned above, in Chapter 129 it's shown that Finny was the only one who noticed that the Ceil who returned home wasn't his master.

According to him, the Ceil who returned home "didn't FEEL right".

What if he is able to sense souls in a way that he doesn't realize and just passes it off as intuition? What if he knew right away something wasn't right about Real!Ceil because his soul wasn't quite there, or it was corrupted from Undertaker's tinkering?

When he first sees Real!Ceil, his eyes almost look like they're starting to go "defense mode" which COULD indicate that his eyes were reacting to the fact that this was technically a dead body with a tampered soul.

Again, this is only a theory, but one I think has some merit.
