“How do people have sex when they have kids?” Buck continues, knowing he’s whining a little bit, but he’s pent up, and Theo came into his life without warning so he didn’t have time to mentally prepare for everything it would entail. Namely, what it would mean for Buck’s sex life. Eddie’s face is kind of red, but he says, in that matter of fact way he always does, “Theo’s asleep right now.”
sometimes being buck is like. you see a fire start in your house and it's getting really warm and uncomfortable so you go to ask for help. and when people ask what you need help with you're like well you see my house is very warm. and they're like oh well that's not a big deal just open some windows, which doesn't sound right but you trust them so you go into your burning house and open some windows and hm. still burning. so you ask again hey my house is uncomfortably warm and they're like wow still complaining huh. well I guess you can get an AC unit. and you're like oh so I shouldn't move out? and they're like what no just because it's a bit warm? you're being kind of dramatic. and you suppose they're right so you go out and get an AC and plug it in and it sparks and the fire gets even bigger. and you really don't know what to do at this point so you just go outside and watch the house reduce to char and then you pick through your stuff and tell everyone that you're moving and they're like oh what why? and you shrug and go I guess it was a bit warm. and they exchange looks like they think you're being kind of silly and you do feel kind of silly but you don't really feel like sleeping on grass so you just laugh and go find a new place and wonder how everyone else manages to just deal with their houses burning down. you must just not get it.
meanwhile sometimes being eddie is like. your house starts to get warm one day. you assume it's just temperature fluctuations. you go to work and someone comments that your clothes smell a little like smoke. you snort and make a quip about your cooking skills. your house is a little warmer when you get home, and huh it does smell a bit like smoke. probably nothing, but you get your kid to sleep over somewhere else because he probably prefers a more temperate house. he looks at you weird when you drop him off. it's probably nothing. the house is a bit warmer. your best friend asks why your shirt is singed at the edges and you shrug and say you don't know. you go home. your foot goes through a piece of hardwood. you keep limping on. you start waking up with minor burns. you sit on the couch and ow ow ow it's kind of uncomfortably hot. but you kept saying it's nothing so it has to be nothing so you can't just LEAVE. you sit there accumulating burns. your best friend runs in and shouts why the FUCK are you sitting in a burning house and tries to drag you out. you get mad at him because jesus christ can't a man live in his own house??? but you go with him to indulge him and he hands you a hose and as you blast it towards your house you realize that most of it IS kind of charred. oops. your best friend helps you rebuild. you don't put in any kind of fireproofing. you're sure it was an one-off.
it's amusing to me when Eddie is rearing up for a fight because whatever he initially poses as the topic is not actually the topic that has been hurting him and when he does end up revealing what his actual problem/hurt is, it's completely unexpected. s3 grocery store he starts with the more acceptable reason of Buck's lawsuit choice and then drops the truth at the peak that he's mad about not being able to talk to Buck and Chris missing Buck. s8 kitchen fight he starts with the idea that Buck won't be happy for him about the El Paso job and then after the peak of the tension drops the part that he's mad about Buck not asking what it was like for Eddie to get the call. you gotta wait for the blindsiding moment every time lmaooo.

Hello, and welcome to the Summer of Buddie Fic Rec Extravaganza!
Over the course of fifteen weeks, we'll be celebrating Buddie fanfiction in all its forms: getting together fics, alternate universes, outsider POV, canon divergence, long fics, hidden gems, and everything in between. Every Thursday from June 18th through September 24th, a new themed rec list will be posted featuring fan-submitted fic recommendations centered around Buck and Eddie.
This event is designed to celebrate the incredible variety within Buddie fandom. Whether you love emotional hurt/comfort, soft domestic fluff, massive slow burns, weird little one shots that changed your life forever, or underrated fics that deserve far more attention, there is a place for all of it here.
Participation is simple:
Each week has its own theme and submission form, and anyone can recommend fics for that week's prompt. You can recommend your own work or someone else's, submit one fic or twenty, participate every week or only once, and rec old favorites alongside brand new discoveries. The goal is to spread love around the fandom and highlight as many incredible creators and stories as possible.
Submission forms will be open two weeks before the list is published, and will close on the Wednesday before.
The rec lists will include fic title, author, rating, archive warnings, word count, a short summary, and the recommender's comments where provided.
Themes are intentionally broad and open to interpretation, so don't be afraid to get creative with your submissions. Works in progress, explicit fic, dark fic, podfics, alternate universes, and pre-canon stories are all welcome provided they are properly tagged and submitted in good faith.

just stumbled across a video of someone asking for fic recs and when asked what fandom they replied 'any' and my mind short circuited, pls add your thoughts in the tags
tl;dr: all "algorithmically" pushed stuff on a newsfeed is mostly ads. nothing that's really surprising form this vulture article, but it is dismal and makes me grateful for one website where you only see things from people you follow WITHOUT horrible short-form video content
