Chapter 2 - Ashes - up now!

Meeting Luffy has changed Law's life in more ways than one. Not only is Doflamingo gone now, but Law is allowing himself to have romance and even friendships outside his crew for the first time in his life. And though it took a while to get there, by the beginning of Wano he's doing better than he had in a really really long time. But the threat of Kaido still looms over, and when Law watches him beat Luffy and snatch him from right under his fingers, something inside him breaks. While Law has gotten fairly close with Zoro in the time he spent with the Strawhats, and that somewhat helps the situation, the homophobic cook he's in love with is really starting to get on Law’s nerves.

Aka, a reimagining of Wano with Law and Luffy in an established relationship, and Zoro and Sanji having a background slow burn heavily featuring Sanji's internalized homophobia. Soaked with metaphor, trauma, and panic attacks - with an eventual happy ending.

Stopping my regularly scheduled programming to lament how underappreciated the line "sequins are forever" in Life of a Show Girl is.

It's not only playing on 'a diamond is forever' as in - "married to the hussle", like a lot of people picked up on, but also on 'plastic is forever'. The layers are so cool! With one line she's comparing the idea of being married to this life both to something sparkly and natural and romantic and to artificial human made junk that's over staying it's welcome. Literally brilliant!! And I never see it discussed 🥲

You know how they say don't joke about having a kink because you'll end up actually having it?

If there's a tag you don't like and don't want to like, don't gloss over it and read the fic anyways, you do that one too many times and suddenly you're into it. And that can be perfectly fine, but just be mindful that this is something that can happen 🫠

Lawlu month week 2 - Ice Cream \ Bugs

I accidentally made a sketch I liked too much on shitty paper and here we are 🫠

This is watercolors and a little bit of gouache. The bug is supposed to be a sun beetle.

I like the line art better in the sketch, the last picture is from before I started messing with white gouache to try to fix stuff

Lawlu month week 1 - Stargazing \ Sea

(I took it to more of a beach direction but don’t tell anyone 🏖🤫)

I'm a little late but don't think I forgot about this! I used this as an opportunity to practice anatomy and poses, you can check out the sketches and progress photos at the bottom.

It was also my first time using my new artist grade watercolors (and some slightly better paper) and the difference is astounding! This is your sign to invest in some better supplies if you can affored it 🎨✨️❤️

Wanted to let you guys know I ended up liking this one so much that I slapped a filter on it, went to the mall and printed it on a magnet for my fridge

Ok so I have the most beautifully depressing fic idea, and I'm not gonna write it because it will be shit for my mental health. But I have to get it out there so here it is.

Zoro and Sanji get together. And Sanji is finally finding himself, and opening up, and deconstructing his whole womanizer thing with the realization he's queer. And it's beautiful. And they're in love. And they're happy. But something’s still not right. And Sanji keeps digging and he realizes he's trans. And Zoro is gay. He's REALLY gay. And he loves Sanji. And he's happy for her. And he supports her through her transition. But at some point along the way he stops being attracted to her. And he can't help it. And it sucks. But Sanji being herself is more important than that. And it's all just… heartbreaking. And slow. And they don't know that the last time is going to be the last. But eventually it comes - and it goes. And they just have to live with the aftermath. Back to being friends. Who really love and care for each other. But no longer lovers.

But Sanji's happy now. And at the end of the day that's what's left of their love.
