i accept that i need 8-9 hrs a night to feel well rested i accept that no matter what, i need a morning ritual, including coffee+breakfast i accept that i need to exercise at least every other day

i accept that i cannot do anything if i ignore my basic needs and that i am more sensitive and susceptible to fatigue and exhaustion and melancholy than a lot of ppl seem to be. i am delicate but that is ok.

Reminds me of the time when of the elders from my hometown started touching a totem pole in the Museum of Anthropology out at UBC and got yelled at by the staff, only to tell him that the pole had been stolen off of the front of her bighouse when she was ten years old.

Museum collectors did the equivalent of kidnapping a family member when they were away fishing.

Tony Hawk is the best because he found something he loved, then pursued it, kept working at it, and kept challenging the boundaries. He didn’t let the younger dudes take it away from him and push him out of what he loved. He’s relevant BECAUSE he loves this so much that even nearing 50, he’s taking these falls and putting in this work to do something just to accomplish it. Other skaters might pull sicker tricks but Tony Hawk will never be irrelevant.
