I’ve always liked how despite making fun of him 24/7 Viridi and Hades acknowledge Pit as a one-man army.

Viridi says “your own power is equal to that of a reset bomb” and Hades acknowledges Pit is “Mighty strong” and gives him props at the end of the game.

Both Viridi and Pit got lucky. That Pit couldn’t confront her. (I hope to not be underestimating her character) cause Pit would most likely defeated her had the Aurum not showed up. And Pit wouldn’t be able to reach sky world nor stoped the Chaos kin if Viridi hadn’t intervened and helped him

ofc pit is a one-man army he does most of the work (lol) but to be fr with all these chapters being servant (or something under the commander) -> commander (times x) -> the god. viridi did get lucky and i hope the add more to her in 12 years omg but pit somehow gets lucky but also unlucky in chapter 21 if you don't shoot the chaos kin there's a "bad ending" pit: no! viridi: your out of time! and out of flight. i can't even get you home. i'm sorry pit. (she sounds so sad too during the line) but now that opens the question what if pit never returned to skyworld? i think we might would have played as dark pit because he could still fly by himself at that time and defeated the chaos kin like that but dark pit would die because if the chaos kin still dragged him down or did whatever that was pit wouldn't be there to save him. so yeah

chat what if pit got turned back into a ring BUT we still play as him. like we are killing humans but we see them as underworld monsters and we can tell smth is off palu seems meaner, pit isn't speaking, the monsters are speaking (in a scrambled way) until the whole world view breaks (dark pit or magnus can save him idc) and pit just learned so all those monsters you well thought that were monsters yeah NO they were humans and you killed them thinking you were helping? no you are the cause of this. have fun with that :P (the game ranting goes to T) that could happen anyways i got off track.

I also find it very funny how different Pit personality is in his original game.

It has the vibe of an very absurd world vs serious protagonist. Pit bullies merchants to get discounts, drinks and barely seems happy on the game manuals.

The most likely explanation for this is that his character personality got revised and updated when uprising got released.

But is also fun to think or speculate that maybe he was crankier or more serious when he was younger and Palutena’s influence cheered him up. Which would be very wholesome in retrospective

Nah i have this headcanon that pit just acts sweet to palu because we all acted (or tried to be) sweet to our teachers to make it seem like we are the sweet kind kid or whatever while we bully our friends and sure they probably you know updated and made his personally different but it's still funny to think if palu isn't watching him his personally changes which it does in the jp version when you go to viridi temple (all he really does is get more reluctant to stay there and well go along with the whole chariot plan) but i can see pit softing up around palu after a while

here's what i'm talking about with the viridi thing (all pit is really saying here is you can't get something from nothing, but it's true meaning is you need to be willing to sacrifice something good if you want to get something good in return, or what i said)

I know we can equip weapons of any of the armies due to gameplay mechanics and that may be all here is to it. Do you think Pit being able to equip almost any wepaon, Underworld or Viridi’s could mean anything lore wise?

Palutena cares about Pit and Viridi’s is implied to have a soft spot for him, Medusa saved his life at the end of the game and Hades complimented Pit’s fighting skill in more than one occasion . Do you think the reason he is able to use the weapons of any of the armies be because he has the god’s favor or could it be related to Pit’s devotion to the gods?

They lampshade talking about devouring at the end of the game. I’m surprised it wasn’t brought up more through the game nor discussed much.

What inspired this ask was the description of Viridi’s palm and the fact Pit is able to equipo and use it:

Is also fun to think of some of the implications and come up with lore reasons for what seems like insignificant details.

So i say pit can do this because

he's an angel who are "messengers of the gods" so if you get the message out there they don't care even if angels don't normally fight they probably need something to protect themselves if it ever called for it. they maybe need to have a god or whoever has the angel favor to use their weapons

2. the weapons (i think) work by "divine power" or a strong enough power ex phosphora bow which is made by her scarf and phosphora isn't a god

3. which also WEAPON GEMS which even tho we get from mii palu the gems themselves must have some from of power (not enough by themselves ofc since you need to fuse them)

so for the lore part I saying the lore is along (since in jp their called sacred treasure) the weapons are ofc mass produced but they need power to work and most gods or anyone strong enough needs put power into the weapon (p + g = w) power plus gem equal weapon and in turn the angel (or whoever can use them) need the power from the person, gods don't really notice since they have so much power if x power is going to the weapon so pit can just take the weapon and go

also for the devotion thing in her treasure hurt she just wants you to collect 5 different palm.. sooooooo maybe the fact we listened to her that's why we unlocked that? idk and i derailed a bit so sorry

I read once in a comment (I don’t know Jap, correct me if I’m wrong) that what Pit said is the equivalent of saying “I love” or “I like” in a more casual way. For example someone saying “I love Pizza”. In a way that is clearly read as non romantic. And the punchline being how easy to misunderstood that declaration was due the ambiguity and intensity of the situation alongside the way Pit said it.

That’s just speculation on my end. Because chapter 15 and 14 also could kinda support that maaaaybe Pit has a crush on Palutena? Or maybe is just strong devotion? Is left ambiguous. Personally I always saw their their relationships as mother-son or mentor-student dynamic without any romantic feeling on Pit’s end and the other gods were misinterpreting their bond because they never experienced that level of trust and closeness with anybody, which was something highlighted on chapter 15. But that’s just my own interpretation. What do you think? How do you interpret it?

I say it is a friendship thing but like you said with the punchline being you could misunderstand it and such which is why i said the "crush" bit was true i was going to add pit needs to word it better but left it out bc idk now i tried looking to see if they had anything in the jp version that supports the eng version but no tho they do bring it up! but palu chooses to not comment and pit says he's too dumb to understand what their talking about. i say it's just a mother-son dynamic tho it can be misinterpreted since they don't really talk about it.

I read that there was some romantic interest on Pit's part towards Palutena in the Japanese version. Putting aside the eternal discussion about whether it is strange/appropriate, it's true? Or it's just an inside joke?

yes it is true In chapter 20 while pit is yapping and such he says

WELL THERE IS A LOT

But the most notable one i would say is like sassy and they way he knows when to stop talking?Jp pit is 100% more sassy which viridi comments on

btw the context for this is for the palm conv pit ask how old is viridi really and she like don't you know you can't ask a lady that and whatnot so yeah

also just palu with her cooking adventures

and he seems to catch up more with the things they talk about and knows when to not comment or agree on things (sometimes) and even calls himself dumb at one point (chapter 15 if you take to long with the boss)

Chapter 6 after palu calls dark pit fallen to evil thoughts and whatnot

Jp pit if you broke down his character more seems more like a 13 year old in a way and it starts to feel like English pit and jp pit are two different characters

So you know how the god's eyes glow in the dark and what not i Hc that for angels when their in a dark enough room like a biblically accurate angel their eyes on their wings open (they can see through them btw) sometimes they have to close there actually eyes to focus on like all 75 eyes they got.

I don’t think this is true because this does not make sense, but it’s something I can look into.

The endings are pretty much the same between versions (English version adds a best ending and removes the worst ending, which is exclusive to the Japanese version) and I’m not too well-versed in the manual, but I know the intro is the same. We’ll see what I can find.

Two small kiu headcannons

whenever dark pit gets to stressed or paniced he just randomly breaks out into spanish. if he tasked to keep up with something or smth like that and he has a feeling someone took it he will start questioning you in spanish (captions appear below him whenever this happens) for pit it is japanese.

pit can spell longs words like hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia but ask him to say it and he WILL struggle
