one of the more psychologically tortured characters in fiction is the Narrator from the Stanley Parable
Wouldnt that depend on which ending to you go for?
you seem to be under the impression that the Stanley Parable has an ending, and thus that the Narrator's suffering eventually stops
a few things that he experiences over and over again forever:
- the obvious suffering of having your creation ripped to shreds in front of you over and over, but also
- the ending where he sits in a room, by himself, waiting for Stanley to unfreeze for 13 billion years
- the ending where the only way forward is for Stanley to repeatedly throw himself off of a high perch to kill himself while the Narrator begs him to stop
- the endings where he is forced to consciously acknowledge that neither he nor the one person he shares eternity with will ever reach what either of them want, and even if they could their goals are diametrically opposed to each other
coming up with a sentence to make the non gamer tumble girlies following me want to experience this cool game:
Stanley and the Narrator's relationship has HEAVY toxic yaoi overtones.
Doctor, suggesting a replacement because it looks like insurance won’t cover seeing them “I referred many patients to XYZ and never heard from them again.”
Me, stunned “I don’t think that’s the endorsement you think it is. You know how many awful fairy tales have the line ‘and they were never heard from again’ in them, right?”
Doctor, trying not to lose Professional Voice and failing “Ha hahaha *cough* I didn’t mean it like that. You have such a great sense of humor! Ha ha ha ha.”
Me, patiently “Did you ever see or hear from any of these people after referring them? As opposed to other places? A “Thank You” or a request for files or need for a consult or asking you to fill in while the new one is on vacation or anything at all?”
Doctor “No. Wait, let me think. No.”
Me “Is that normal?”
Doctor “No.”
Me “Can you see my concern?”
Doctor, sounding quiet “Yes, I’m sure they’re fine, but now that you asked, I’ll check my records for other care providers.”
Me “Fairy tales are cautionary tales. I’m concerned for the patients you referred to this other Doctor. Their chances seem grim.”
Doctor, not laughing “I understand.”
Me “If you can’t find anyone you’ve referred, you might want to check nearby ditches.”
Doctor makes choking noise “I want to laugh at that, but you’ve got me worried.”
Me “Yeah, well.”
(Silence)
Doctor “I’m going to check on a few people I referred to them.”
Me “Yep.”
— two weeks later —
Doctor “I won’t be referring anyone to that provider again.”

So, I’m reading Witches Abroad right now, and in it there’s a festival that’s pretty clearly based in Mardi Gras, called Samedi Nuit Mort. I knew what each of those words meant, and could tell there was a joke in there, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I thought it was something to do with how it sounded out loud, but that didn’t work…

Photo Use Guidelines
This tumblr is ancient but I needed somewhere to toss a block of text that was slightly more accessible than FB so... Here are my general ground rules for photos I return to you after a shoot. Please note this is specifically for the models in the shoot, not random blorbo from the internet. Editing: You may do small edits to my images such as removing blemishes, scars, costume mistakes, changing your eye color and fixing makeup if I’ve missed doing so. My rule of thumb is if I can’t tell you changed it at a glance, it’s just fine. If you’d like me to make those adjustments, shoot me a message. If you want to do major editing such as background changes or special effects, I am ok with this so long as you post stating the SFX or other changes are yours, not mine! Image Use: You may use my images of you for any and all of the following without checking with me: Social Media profile images, headers, website design, personal galleries, icons & thumbnails, business cards, selling your costume posts, contest entries including calendars or website headers eg: vs cosplay, Arda banner contests, Guest Announcements and Social Media pushes for convention announcements. HOWEVER if my watermark is removed or rendered invisible I should be credited whenever possible as either Elemental Photography and Design on Facebook or @Elementalphotodesign on Instagram. This is as simple as “Photo by Elemental Photography and Design” or “Sailor Mercury photo by Elemental Photography and Design” (or @Elementalphotodesign if on Instagram). Cropping when creating a profile image or a header collage is normal, but if you are uploading to Instagram please try to leave the image in its original format - you can use apps to prevent cropping, and I also often include 'Instagram" sized images with a slight border with your photo returns. Just use the little corner brackets when uploading the Instagram Crop file. Uploading a 'close up' and then the uncropped image is a-ok as well. You may not sell my images as prints, stickers, postcards etc without prior agreement. You may not use my images for non-contest print runs such as calendars or other material that will be sold by a third party without discussing it with me first. General Credit: I do ask that you link me/credit when you share my images, but I understand folks can mess up. If you miss me at times, as long as my watermark is visible I don’t mind. If my image has been cropped however, my credit is important. Have any questions? Did I miss something obvious? Let me know! I’m hoping this is easy enough to follow (and folks won’t have to worry about if they can use my pics for Arda anymore. :D)

I’ve been neglecting tumblr while recovering from health and now surgery, but I just HAD to share this photo of Pinkiebel/Laurabel cosplaying from Steven Universe because they are just too precious and perfect. Shot at MTAC/March Comic Con in Toronto.
