the saga continues: a bird flew into sibs room 💔

#the story begins at 9.30 pm #i hear a flutter #and then a bang and an 'oh??????'#immediate footsteps. 'theres a bird in my room.'#bear in mind our rooms are separated by a door that doesnt shut and a curtain that is not floor to ceiling.#im fresh out the shower. im not dressed for such an occasion. i say 'okay. go downstairs and grab an adult'#they bring our mother. a woman known for having a bird phobia. she wakes up our stepdad.#he goes into the bedroom in just his damn boxers. opens the widow and shuts the door as best he can.#im rapidly dressing and getting out of there thankful its not my room this is happening in.#he ends up stripping the bed cos its gone underneath. he LOSES TRACK OF IT.#the bird is assumedly outside. we shut the window and remake the bed with fresh sheets. we go to bed. all is well #until the next morning. im downstairs. sibs getting ready for college. i hear a Commotion.#sib comes down half dressed and shaken. 'the bird is still in my room.'#i say 'okay bet. grab ur shit open the window and close the door if you can.'#they say 'its under the wardrobe.'#i say 'okay lets wake the parents cos i got five minutes to leave and i aint got time for this. also i dont want to.'#dad sends our mother downstairs and hands sib some clothes bc the bus is ten minutes away.#we hear more fluttering and chirping. this time hes able to hold the bird and guide it out the window #he tells us this just as we leave the house bc sib has two minutes to get to the bus stop and lowk has to sprint #theyre very ready to derail a lesson at college to tell everyone about this #and our evening is going to be spent tidying the room and hoping the bird just slept through the night and didnt defecate anywhere #anyways weve trauma bonded and have since had a couple conversations where they havent gotten snappy at me #so i think we're on better terms now
