Elise tugged on her dress as she walked in. She still wasn’t sure why she got so nervous at her school conventions, but scouting for her girlfriend in the large crowd didn’t help.
“…How did I even–Who put me on the ballot?”
“Baby brother! I’m so proud of you! I knew you could do it!”
Elise Banner’s Valentine’s Ball Outfit
of course meg knew she was upset about that. who wouldn’t be? how was it fair that elise’s dad was still—– dead? gone? trapped, whatever! while everyone else was coming back. her sympathy was quickly being replaced by hurt at the other girl’s words. “elise. stop it.” she moved to take the bottle from her, shaking her head, anger coating her words. “you’re both important to me. if you’re upset at me—- be upset at me. leave sofia out of it.”
Elise couldn’t even think straight, but there she was, yelling at the most important person in her life while holding a half-empty bottle of vodka. “Don’t tell me what to do!” The girl shouted, yanking the bottle away as she tried to grab it. “No, they’re both important to you. I’m not important, otherwise you would have dance with me at a party instead of them. You didn’t even realize I was drunk until we sat down for that fucking game. For all you cared, I wasn’t even there!”
generally meg was apprehensive about random notes laying around in her room. seeing as it was valentines day, however, and memories of her christmas gift from elise still lingering in her head—– meg figured it would be safe. of course, though, there were also still memories of their fight lingering in meg’s head as well, which, did have her slightly nervous about this meeting. but. meg knew elise. it was valentine’s day—– if they were breaking up it wouldn’t be today. so she slipped on something nicer looking than normal and headed to the room. an amused grin slipped onto her face as the hearts dropped from the ceiling, her eyes shifting to the sign elise held. “baby—– you didn’t have to do this to apologize.”
Part of Elise wasn’t even expecting her to come. Her hands were shaking, causing the paper sign to do the same. When the girl walked in, she didn’t know whether to smile or puke. This was a huge step for her, and it was one she wasn’t sure Meg would like. Without a word, just a deep breath, Elise flipped the piece of paper. In red and pink letter with silver glitter, she had written the one things that scared her the most. “I love you.”
“You two will work it out. She’ll understand.”
“I was really mean...”

Elise felt terrible. She hadn’t spoken to her girlfriend since their fight, and she had been so afraid of the repercussions from Sofia that she had been sleeping in her lab or her office. But, today she was going to change that. Her office was elaborately decorated, just like she had for Christmas. Instead of snowflakes, however, she had rigged the contraption to drop hearts.
Before Elise had started, she had left a typed note and slid it under Meg’s door. It said a time and a room, and Elise was waiting there for her. In the middle of her room, clad in a red dress, she waited for her girlfriend. The dark-haired girl held a large sign reading “I’m Sorry” in front of her. She just hoped Meg stayed around to read the second part.
“I got it…” he said, quickly, gathering the pieces and holding them together, vibrating his hands as well as creating a thin speed force field around it. “…I think, I can fix it…..”
Elise’s jaw dropped as she watched him work. “Holy...wow...that’s...wow!”
meg scowled as the other girl grabbed her, rolling her shoulder out of her grasp. “if you’re sure.” her glare grew a bit, arms folding across her chest. “he should have known better.” men. “what was it a generator for?”
Elise stepped back, rubbing her hands together. “It’s fine, really.” She looked down at the shards. “It was a solar generator that could generate enough power to fly a plane. Well, on a bigger scale. This one can fire a microwave.”
meg gave the the other student a glare, shoving them down. “can you be any more klutzy? how are you even a second year if you’re still running into people?” she inclined her head, giving elise a look. “can you make another?”
“Who!” Elise rushed forward, holding the other girl back. “It’s fine, really. I can just make another one. No big deal.” it had only taken her months to do. At least she had written everything down.
“I-it’s okay.” Elise said, even though it wasn’t. Her masterpiece had shattered, and the pieces of glass were all over the floor. “It was just a generator...”
Ophelia had managed to escape her mother’s grasp but she knew she was always watching. She was a pain but she knew she loved Ophelia. It was just—— tough love. “What’re you doing in my room again?” She asked the person as she crossed her arms across her chest.
Elise had been sitting at her desk when the other woman walked in. She arched her eyebrow and looked at the stuff she had moved in. “I live here...” Elise said, still being polite but sounding confused.

“i drink for fun, baby—- not when i’m sad.” did no one get that? drinking was for fun. not for sad. she paused, a little taken back by the glare and harsh tone of her girlfriend’s words—- and then actually hurt by the comment about sofia. “what’s that suppose to mean? of course i’m checking on her, too—– but you’re important too, elise.”
“Forgetting about the fact that my dad isn’t here is fun.” She snapped. Elise had been angry about this for a while, but now that she was drunk, it was all bubbling up. “Of course you are! You just happened to run into me! Go on, I’ll stand by, go run to your favorite.” Elise took a step to the side, making a grand, sweeping gesture so she could walk by.
“She was probably just worried about you.”
She sighed softly. “I know...”
She nodded. “What happened between you two?”
“She saw I was drinking a lot and I yelled at her.”
Alice rubbed her friends back as she sobbed. “You’ll get him back.” She said. “It’ll be okay.”
Eventually Elise calmed down and pulled away, but she continue to pick at her bottle. “I yelled at my girlfriend.”
