So this site talks a lot about how fruity Katie McGrath is, but I think we have undersold the ability of Cate Blanchett to make everything, and I mean everything, gay. I don't know when it started. I don't remember Elizabeth being this gay, for instance, though there was that outstanding suit of armor. But Cate seems to have made a decision somewhere along the line to do as many gay roles as possible. And to sell her other roles as gay. And have you seen her with other women on the red carpet? Like she is holding the bisexuality back with a chain link fence, but it is having no trouble climbing right over. Anyway, I experience it as a great gift that Galadriel is queer in my lifetime.
A friend and I have started making a list of actresses who are married to men, but seem to play queer as often as possible. Drum roll
