3 Minutes to Midnight: The Most Ambitious Game yet!
"3 Minutes to Midnight" is a Point and Click adventure game surrounded by secrets and conspiracy. This game aims to be story-rich and immersive! With over 50 characters all with a backstory, let's say you will be spending hours simply learning these quirky strangers.
The game is set in a town in New Mexico in the late '40s. A loud explosion happens and one of our playable characters (Betty Anderson) wakes up, experiencing amnesia. Betty has a lot more to worry about though! Forget having amnesia, you have to worry about doomsday! Crack this conspiracy with 3 minutes to midnight!
Now just when you thought we will only have one playable character, we have a second character to play with! That is the overly ambitious mayor Eliza Barret! Use both these characters to unravel this conspiracy, one they definitely can't do alone!
When I say this game sounds ambitious, I really mean it! Not only is this game highly immersive with its dialogue alone (over 5000 lines of unique dialogue), but it also has interactable objects to match! With over 1000 interactable objects in the game, you will be able to figure out puzzles in multiple ways ( the simple solution isn't always the best).
Speaking of puzzles, every puzzle has multiple solutions. You will be able to do this by interacting with items and people. Be careful how you complete these puzzles though, as some endings will unlock character backstories and information, you wouldn't want to miss out on those!
Some puzzles will also be progressive, meaning that decisions you made earlier in the game will affect how you solve the puzzle. You may need to talk to other characters to help you or look around your environment.
Now once you finish the game, that's only just the beginning! This game will become the pinnacle of replayability. This game not only has secret events, characters and dialogue, we are also talking multiple endings. Each ending will be drastically different, depending on how you play the game, some happier than others.
This game will also come with a hint system for when you are really stuck on what to do next. This system will help you by highlighting important objects or dialogue options when you activate them. Making the game much easier to navigate!
You can expect to have around 15 - 20 hours of gameplay on this game! Which is pretty big for a point and click. The game also features skip options making it quicker for you when you replay this game searching for the secret ending!
3 Minutes to Midnight will also be controller supported and hopefully released for more than just PC. The developers talk about Xbox One, PS4 and Switch releases, along with Andriod and IOS systems later down the line.
This game is an upcoming game through Kickstarter that has finished but you can wishlist it on Steam!
Necken is a tile-based roguelike game. You must navigate a randomly generated forest filled with animals, Carolean soldiers and mythical beasts. The goal is to collect resources, explore the forest and put an end to Necken a powerful water spirit.
As soon as I started this game up I was met with probably one of the best opening songs I have heard for a game and a very clean, colourful forest being its start menu.
Once you press start it does state that the game is still very much in development (demo and paid). You are greeted with your only character a long-haired person in a red shirt. (I assume more characters will be released, possibly with different skills and talents) and a tab called trinkets which is what you can collect in the game, they will appear in the tab once you found them.
The game does include a durability meter and each time you attack you will lose a point of durability. How much damage you make will depend on how much durability it has left so make sure to always restore or replace your weapons regularly and harvest everything!
You use the classic WASD to move across each tile and that is where you can find trees to harvest for shields, weapons, keys and restoring items. As you travel you will come across mushrooms, this is your health so make sure to pick them up when you are low.
After battling the enemies and always have a key handy as they drop chests which you need to unlock for supplies.
Don’t make the same mistake I did and leave an area when you still have to harvest and loot; once you leave there is no going back. I lost a chest I could open by accidentally going forward; that meant no extra supplies for me when I got bombarded with enemies in the next area.
Don’t make the same mistake I did and leave an area when you still have to harvest and loot; once you leave there is no going back. I lost a chest I could open by accidentally going forward; that meant no extra supplies for me when I got bombarded with enemies in the next area.
You can buy the game or play the demo on Gamejolt and can also be purchased on Steam.
Shadow of a Sunless world is an echolocation based horror game that was uploaded on Itch.io. This game was created in four months by a group of students for their last year of University and it is surprisingly polished for what it is!
The game explains that there was a tribe that lived on the surface happily. Then one day a horde of "umbra" long, skinny beasts infested the land and the tribesmen became their prey. For the survival of the tribe, they were forced to live underground in darkness.
You are named Ekko and you were recently caught doing "the great taboo" and were exiled to the surface to "die alone". This is where the game begins.
As mentioned, "Shadows of a Sunless World" is all about echolocation. Sound is your friend but is also your enemy. Your footsteps will reveal more of the area for you to see. Once you stop the world will go dark to you. Some areas will be revealed constantly due to the sound of water droplets, items falling, rats moving or umbra imitating every noise you can hear!
You can also control your breath to reduce how much noise you make. This is extremely useful once you have realized an umbra is nearby. Prepare to run through as once an umbra has spotted you they will release a horrible scream and come after you. If you are caught the game will take you back to the last main area you have come across.
This game is really good for what it is and it has a lot of potential! I hope the developers continue to work on this game with more story progression, different areas and perhaps areas where you can finally rest! I found this game never gives you a chance to relax. Every new area was a cause for concern, every noise I picked up I was constantly avoiding it thinking it was an umbra. There were times I had to pace myself because I got scared so quickly.
Suspense is done well in this game but sadly that is all it is, suspense. Once meeting an umbra it wasn't that bad especially when I noticed it before it noticed me. You can kind of guess where an umbra is before it can see you. The model for it was a bit strange but I wasn't expecting a lot due to it being a school project.
The game would be extremely scary if there were chasing scenes or perhaps you can see umbra in hallways as I found my suspense peaking in those areas compared to large open spaces. All can change and be improved with this game and I hope these uni students decide to stick with it a little longer and really make it an amazing game!
A game which started out as a small concept game on itch.io as “Where The Goats Are” has expanded into the game The Stillness in the Wind. This indie game is all about isolation and routine and even though you are all alone, the world doesn’t stop.
You are a lone farmer named Talma. Talma tends to her chickens and goats, makes cheese and chats to the traveller every now and then.
When the traveller shows up this is your time to barter with him for some supplies you want (for example, giving away cheese for some hay for your goats). This time is also when you will be given letters from your family.
When you first start playing the game the letters you receive are nice, happy and fills you with pride. Talma sees how well her family is doing in the outside world, in the city. As you progress, looking after your farm, maybe even starting to plant vegetables, these letters start to get more and more disturbing. But as these letters start to get more disturbing, you start to walk slower and the days seem quicker.
The Stillness in the Wind is a slow burner. I spent an hour in-game and only then was I starting to get some interesting letters and notice how Talma was starting to slow down. This game does, however, brings forward a sort of serenity, a peaceful break from other games from time to time. Talma’s life is simple and the only excitable parts in her life are receiving letters and talking to the traveller. A simple life isn’t a bad life. But even though you decide to take a simple life, the busy life always finds a way to reach you, even if it is through letters from your family.
A mortician’s job is definitely not easy! To be one you would have to have a strong will, don’t mind working with dead people, dealing with the living and the grieving. These are some hard shoes to fill and the game “A Mortician’s Tale” brings light to the gruesome job.
Warning: Contains suicide, death and embalming. Please don’t read any further if you are sensitive to these subjects.
Being a mortician involves embalming, cremation and holding funeral services. You do all of this in ” A Mortician’s Tale”.
You play as Charlie (Charlotte) starting her first day at the funeral home Rose and Daughter’s as a mortician. Regularly check your emails to get new jobs you need to fill and interact with your friends and co-workers. ( To get more of the story regularly check the unused tab on your computer to see what Charlie has been looking at.)
Thankfully, the game is more focused on the story of the game rather than the graphics. This low-poly design gives a cartoon vibe helping you ease into the dark themes you will witness in the game. The game can be very upfront in regards to using tools to embalm, talking with grieving family members and even knowing how some of the people have died.
Some dark themes you will come across is suicide, embalming techniques, dead people and companies trying to profit on the dead. All of this can be highly disturbing to a lot of people but for some (including myself) it can bring on a certain kind of peace, knowing you are preparing people for their final goodbye and sending them off in a humane way.
A Mortician’s Tale is a disturbing game meant to highlight the western funeral industry. To see just how impersonal it can get can be heart-wrenching for some (especially later in the game). However, the ending was a cute heartfelt one, seeing how Charlie has grown into the industry and offering an alternative to the cold send-off most funeral services provide.
A Mortician’s Tale was not meant to gross people out. This game is featuring harsh truths that a lot of people face. I truly believe this game was meant to enlighten us, about the job and help us deal with the feelings we have about death. The life of a mortician is a hard one indeed.
So what is this game all about? Well at first glance it is about getting these little creatures called "Gammies" to these little white flowers that act as a helipad. Pretty simple right? Wrong! The game is split up with acts and each level is a chapter (40 chapters in total) and each act will introduce a new mechanic to the game that the Gammies can use or be restricted by.
As you progress you will be dealing with different coloured Gammies, you start off with blue and red. The first act is fairly easy to get through, but act 2 will introduce a new colour, yellow. By this time you would understand that you can mix blue and red to make purple. Now you can mix Gammies with yellow to get orange and green. You must pay attention to this as being mixed will have its advantages and disadvantages.
Mechanics
The game really tests your problem-solving skills and your knowledge of colour. In 'She Remembered Caterpillars' you will face such obstacles like:
Beetle Bridges - Only certain coloured Gammies can cross (this also counts with mixed Gammie Colours).
Ferns - The displayed coloured Gammie cannot pass through (this includes Gammies with it's coloured mixed in, for example, a purple Gammie cannot cross a Red or Blue fern)
Snail Bridges - Any Gammie can cross these but can only be activated by another Gammie sitting on one or two trigger pads.
You will find these types of mechanics being used in the first 3-4 acts. You will experience more in the following acts but I would love for you guys to experience the game yourself!
Story
Why do I want you to experience it yourself? Well, the game also introduces a little story about a person going through a loss, in particular, their father who they weren't on good terms with. In the beginning, you will sit there going "umm what". It is one of those games that you have to sit back and think about what that story was all about. The story is definitely one full of symbolism and many of you will have your own interpretation of it.
Overview
This beautifully hand-drawn game is a treat to play (hence why I had to review it) I am not much for puzzles and problem solving but this is an exception! The art style draws you in and the cute little Gammies running about waiting for your command are adorable. The game doesn't feel repetitive as the new mechanic from each act makes it feel fresh. The downside is there is no replay value in this game and near the end, I feel the difficulty increases rapidly in the last acts.
This game can be finished fairly quickly (around 5-7 hours) especially if you are good at problem-solving or were invested in the game like I was. Even though it is a puzzle game it does add a form of calmness especially in the art style and music! I really did enjoy this game, perhaps a bit too much.
You can get 'She Remembered Caterpillars" on Steam.
If you do decide to get the game leave a comment on what your thoughts were on it and what you think the story means! I am really interested in hearing your experiences with it and what your take on the story might be!
I am planning on doing a Steam achievement walkthrough of this cute little game so stay tuned!
Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor: Achievement Walkthrough
I fell in love playing Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor. Collecting trash, trying to figure out what was worth something and what wasn't. I ended up picturing myself as a simple janitor, just trying to make some little money. Then after a hard day's work return to a leaky, rundown studio apartment.
But after multiple hours playing the game, you still haven't quite collected all those achievements that so many of us try to collect. Well, now you have a compiled list of all achievements (including hidden) and how to achieve them. So let's get achievement hunting!
Before we start I should mention that a couple of these achievements can only be obtained through this guy:
The Achievement Peddler!
When I say get it from the Achievement Peddler I mean this guy! He can be found in the Adventure's Loot Market near the Ziggurat (A massive temple).
Sucks to Suck
I am going to start off with the most pain-inducing achievement first!
Now the reason why this achievement is a pain is that it will wipe all of the achievements that you have achieved in the game! This is only if you are severely unlucky. To achieve this you will need to buy the "astergold coin" from the Achievement Peddler which is around 290- 400 MC. Now no one knows for certain if the game can actually wipe achievements but it certainly is making people scared. When buying the astergold coin you have two outcomes.
Buying it and only getting sucks to suck, thus losing your previous achievements.
Achieving sucks to suck by " Buy one get one free" Essentially giving you two achievements in one!
Best to get this achievement over and done with as quickly as possible.
Buy One Get One Free
Can only be achieved through the "Sucks to Suck" achievement by buying an astergold coin from the Achievement Peddler.
Instant Gratification
Can obtain by purchasing the " Strange Rusted Coin" from the Achievement Peddler. ( Costs around 30-50 MC)
Cheater
Obtainable by purchasing the "Ancient Coin" from the Achievement Peddler ( Costs around 70-100 MC)
Totally Worth it
The last achievement in this list that you need to buy from the Achievement Peddler. Obtain the "Nepteul Coin" (Costs around 200-250 MC)
That should be all the Achievement Peddler related achievements!
Bwah!
This is the very first achievement you will get in the game. You obtain this by interacting with the cursed skull. To reach the cursed skull, talk to the wizard (Heather) and purchase "The Eye of Beb". Once you consume the eye you now have access to the sewer dungeon, enter and follow the path to find the skull and begin the game.
Gross
This achievement is obtained once collecting the first piece of the tablet. To collect the tablet go to the red district and look for a blob going by the name of " Vyorba Toxxx". He will ask you to buy him a smut book. Now you can find the book " Gardens of the Galaxy" on the ground but that will take some time. If you are impatient, go to a shop called "Smut" around the corner from your apartment, there you will be able to purchase the book. Return to Vyorba Toxxx and give him the book, he will give the first tablet piece in return, giving you the achievement.
Devotee
Collect this achievement by talking to Necress (She can be found in the green district). She asks you to collect fetishes of all 9 goddesses and place them in your house (place in the storage container, then they will be displayed). After this, she will give you the second tablet piece and the achievement. Now, collecting fetishes may seem easy but it is pretty time-consuming. You can find fetishes on the ground, in the lotto shrine and can purchase them every now and then from different merchants scattered around the map.
Not In The Job Description
For this achievement, we will need to find the last tablet piece in the sewer dungeon. So go grab another "Eye of Beb" from the wizard (Heather) and enter the dungeon. After exploring a bit you will find a flooded area, you must go into this and traverse the maze to find the last piece. You will receive the achievement once you collect the last piece.
Warning! Once you reach the flooded area a hovering being will try and hunt you down, getting caught will teleport you to the top of the Ziggurat and you will need to buy another "Eye of Beb".
Strangely Quiet
Once you have all three tablet pieces, and after speaking to a wizard that restores it, you will need to hire an adventure to take the tablet and curse off your hands. You will have the choice of three adventures to choose from, all with different requirements:
Vehva: A pilot and the most straight forward adventurer, requires 600 MC. Can be found on the circular platform near the Onas Shrine.
Ali Yaga: a thief that hangs around the green district, requires a "Mythic Spellwatch" for her services. You can obtain a mythic spellwatch by finding them on the ground or selling the spell watch given to you by gNormo after giving him 150 containers.
I_AM_TECHNUS: A robot that hangs around the stairs of the Ziggurat in the red district. Requires 5 mega batteries to accept the quest. You are better off finding them then buying them as they are pretty pricey, would be better off paying Vehva if that's the case.
Dear Diary
Once you have chosen your adventurer and paid them off, it is time to go to sleep. An event will occur and you will have two options:
Go back to sleep
Go outside and follow the lights to a ship, then pass it.
Choosing either of these will trigger the end credits.
Long Day No Pay
A very simple achievement. Get through one day and go to bed.
9 Days A Week
Play through all 9 days making up a week. The week is set: Aggraday, Havalana, Theday, Onday, Sprenday, Delviday, Valday, Bebday and Lausterday. Representing all 9 goddesses.
Party Animal
Staying out late on Theday, the only day with festivals and no curfew.
Pilgrim
Achieved by visiting all 9 goddesses shrines in one day. This will take getting used to the map and shrine locations. Here is a map created by Uro to help you!
Charmed
Getting your luck over 100. Pretty easy to achieve when you are constantly visiting and praying to shrines, offering gifts to the goddess and eating items that say they will give you good luck. Be sure not to spam offerings and visits as it does "make the goddesses annoyed". You can check your luck through the shrine you have in your home.
Goddess
Continue the advice in the "Charmed" achievement. Your luck will grow quickly, hitting over 500 will give you the achievement.
Tough Luck
Now time to do the opposite, we need to get our luck into negative. Due to the curse, your luck will naturally drain over time. To speed up the process pick up cursed items, step on spirals in the ground and pick up "Nnnawi Bonecoins" (which you can get from the lender at the bank). Make sure not to offer gifts to goddesses and pray at shrines. You will receive this achievement once your luck is -100.
Doing Something Right
Continue with the advice from "Tough luck" you will get the achievement once your luck has hit -666.
Black Market
Shifty Sallamot can be found in Chemdrain Backalley. Trading with them will give you the achievement. Shifty Sallamot accepts Xenome Jelly, Jar of Blue Fluid, Mijradi Mind-Oil, and Necropolis Cocktail.
Your Money My Lunch
Have Redscarves take your money three times in one day. Approach any and all Redscarves to have a chance of getting your money taken. This will work every day except Theday.
Making Ends Meet
Spending or losing 200MC in one day will give you this achievement. Is usually done by making a big purchase (like a coin from the Achievement Peddler).
Scavenger
Is completed by selling an item for more than 50MC. I found selling armours and weapons have helped me achieve this. You can also check lotto shrines and visit merchants to see what items they accept can sell for.
Rags to Riches
Make 200MC in one day. This is pretty hard but I found stocking up on "Nnnawi Bonecoins" was the simplest way as they guarantee 20mc each. Other people have saved up bolts of cloth, armour, weapons to achieve this also.
Rags to Worse Rags
Easily obtainable without trying. Simply have less money at the end of the day than at the beginning.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR OBEDIENCE
Incinerate 100 items, can easily do simply playing the game.
Daily Ritual
Play 10 minutes every day for 9 days in a row. You can easily do this legit, but you can also change the date on your computer 9 times to achieve this.
Sick Burn
Incinerate your vomit 50 times, pretty simple to achieve especially when you eat everything off the ground.
Overachiever
This achievement involved staying inside all day. Before doing this achievement stock up on non-perishable foods (You can find them in the kiosk just outside your apartment) so you can go to bed the next day. On the day you try this, do not collect your money from your shrine (this will count as leaving your apartment) instead walk onto your bed and hold down E to speed up time, eat some food then go to bed.
Every Nook and Cranny
You are most likely to achieve this through normal gameplay. You will obtain this achievement once you have entered each named area on the map.
Off Limits
This can be achieved by going to the bank. Just outside it, you will see a fin/star looking sign. Walk into the edge touching the ground and you will be able to walk onto it. Walk all the way to the top and onto the bank to get the achievement.
Spend Thrift
Achieve this by incinerating all four tier-one currency. This includes Nnnawi Bonecoins, Kqllli Shinebricks, Ez@lro Coinshards, and Ea##ndrian Slimeheads. Go to the moneylender to get Nnnawi Bonecoins to incinerate, the rest you can trade MC for them and possibly find them on the ground.
Windowshopper
Go to a random merchant and open up their shop tab, then leave it for an hour. After an hour you will receive the achievement.
Booster Pack
You obtain this achievement by collecting all five rare trading cards. You can purchase these or come across them on the ground. The five cards are:
Clouds over Birthworld
Crystal Caves of Mijrukal
Suns-set on Old Qaerwasa
Magma Clouds of the Qorrnz Reach
Chemical Forests, Megacity X-79
Something Happened
Find or purchase 10 blue gems and place them in the storage container in your house. Next time you enter your house a group of Redscarves would be raiding it, giving you the achievement.
Romanceable
Outside your apartment in Portside Shantytown is a person/worm in the dirt. Give them 5 piles of dirt that you find to get the achievement.
Apprentice
Sell a common spellwatch. You will find spell watches of various tiers whilst you are collecting trash. Once you find a common spellwatch, find a merchant that will be willing to buy it. Merchants are colour picky so make sure you find a merchant that wants to buy your coloured spell watch.
Spellcrafter
Same as above except selling an uncommon spell watch.
Necromancer
Same as above except selling a rare spell watch.
Whoa, where did you find that?
Same as above except selling a mythic spell watch. You can also obtain a mythic spell watch by giving gNormo 150 containers near the bank.
Supernova
Find an item called "Mijradi Supernova". You can find it cheap at food stalls in the green district. Drink it to get the achievement.
Delicious!
Purchase "River Weevils" at food stalls and eat them to get the achievement. You can find them most cheap in the yellow district.
5 Second Rule
Find an edible item on the ground and eat it to get the achievement.
Good Decisions
Drinking poison will trigger this achievement, sadly not many people know what foods/drinks trigger it but one person has said "Draught of Firebreath" has given them this achievement. Don't worry you can't die in the game you will just be sick.
There we have it, all achievements for "Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor" and how to achieve them! Leave a comment down below if this helped you or you found a poison that triggers " Good Decisions" as I am stuck on this also!
A quick little tutorial on how to get all the sheep in Spiritfarer! If you want to see a complete achievement walkthrough let me know through asks and all that and I will gladly make one and this is one of my favourite games to date!
Firstly how do we get started gathering sheep? We first need to go to a location called Mount Toriyama coordinates -99, 34. Your ship does not need any requirements to go there. Once you are there you will find a lost spirit, complete their task and you will be able to start collecting sheep! Once you complete the quest you will already have your first sheep!
Now where are the locations for all the others? Well here they are!
Mount Toriyama:
Coordinates: -99, 34, ship requirements: None
Hummingberg:
Coordinates: 39, 139, ship requirements: None
Sandwich Walk:
Coordinates: 141, -54, ship requirements: Rock Destroyer
It isn't necessary to have a corral for each sheep but it sure is handy. Otherwise, the sheep will jump around your ship and will eat your crops if they haven't been fed.
The achievement will only appear once you have fed all sheep on your ship.
If you want to have a corral for each sheep it is important to note that the cost to create one gets greater the more you make, but as mentioned above it isn't necessary for the achievement. It would be nice to have all sheep in their own little cozy home though!
There you have it! All locations and requirements for you to become the Sheep Ranger! Hope this helped you out a lot!
This is just gonna be reposts of what I have done on my website for a while! I have a few games I would like to make walkthroughs of but in all honesty it is going to be when I feel like it. I may post funny haha content but that would mostly happen on my other page @gamingformuffins where I post anything and everything I feel like!
