It's difficult for me to see Stede suddenly being okay with killing people (due to how he handled just being around when the Badmintons accidentally died), but what I can definitely see is him being self-appointed emotional support and director during boardings of other ships.

He seems to have no qualms about violence in general (except against animals, love you Stede), so he would just dash around while the crew fight and maim and kill and be like "Bullets, anyone? Anyone need more bullets? A freshly loaded pistol? Knives? A glass of water?"

"Oh, you dropped your sword there, Pete - here, I brought extras!"

"Those maims are really coming in well, Wee John! You can tell you've been practicing your burn skills."

"Ah, great work, Roach - a cut over there, don't you think, to balance it out? Maybe a modest flogging as well?"

"You're doing so well, guys! It's really coming together!"

He could shoot someone in the leg or stab someone in a non-lethal place if necessary, but I imagine he would "outsource the big job" and then have group reviews and therapy sessions afterwards
