Yeahhh, DID and OSDD are not trauma disorders. They're dissociative disorders and they entwine with trauma disorders very often in a way other types don't. It is far more common to have OSDDID from trauma. It is not impossible to have it come from different reasons. More rare? Absolutely. Even more circumstancial than traumagenic OSDDID? Absolutely. Impossible? No.

Studies have yet to prove or disprove whether it is only borne from trauma. Does this mean we should ignore the trauma aspect? No, traumatic experiences are a very important part of dissociative disorder research because trauma predisposes you to dissociation. That's the most common and likely cause of dissociation so bad it becomes disordering. That doesn't mean there aren't other ways to develop this unhealthy reaction.

I'm not saying that we should take attention away from traumagenic OSDDID, it's important we focus on that. All I'm saying is that endogens can absolutely have one of these disorders.

At the end of the day, we don't have all the information about a lot of things, let alone something as complex as a human brain.
