needing to take a shower: worst feeling in the world getting into the shower: hardest task in the world being in the shower: 🚿🧼🛁🧴🫧 getting out of the shower: second hardest task in the world being out of the shower: (soft hair) (soft skin) (cozy towel) (clean clothes) why is getting into the shower always so hard. i should remember this feeling (most beautiful feeling in the world) next time i need to take a shower
Beautiful dash pull
i still find it so genuinely Weird when i think about the fact that fat people irl are a rather common occurrence. your family, your friends, your coworkers, people on the bus, random passerbys - there are fat people there. usually often. but when you look at Any form of media - movies, tv shows, video games, books are more complicated as not a visual medium but there too, fat people are almost nonexistent. one fat person for the whole movie. one fat person in the background of your fictional city. this is so insanely unrealistic but at the same time nobody comments on this and "we" accept it as normal!! and then people even think their own fatness makes them into some rare failure instead of one of the incredibly common body situations. crazy

Owen, become a woman
Reading a book about the psychology of friendship (that, oh by the way, taps the ace and trans communities in its discussion not as clinical categories but by including anecdotes from people in those communities!!) and somehow it encouraged me to quadruple down on saying:
We literally do not have enough friendships. Our culture's obsession with romance over friendship is shockingly new (1850's on) and it is having a serious impact on our health across the board, specifically men. This problem has become sharply exacerbated in the last 20 years.
We need more friendships. We need more friendship in media. "But what if they kissed?" What if they didn't, and the love that was there mattered anyway??? Take my hand. Imagine this with me. A relationship unbound by law or expectation. People who choose one another again and again. To stay in each other's lives when there are no societal tethers holding them together.
Go read Platonic by Marisa G. Franco (PhD).

Something that bothers me a lot is how fandoms seemingly perceive canon bad aspec representation, because they will call out everything else but avoid calling out the blatant aphobia.
Biggest example right off the top of my head would be Viktor from arcane.
Viktor is terrible asexual representation. He is not representation at all. If you try and see what the fandom thinks about this tho- it's just people calling out ableism. Not the aphobia that is very much tied to this issue as well.
Viktor isn't bad asexual rep because he's disabled, he's terrible asexual rep because there is nothing about his story that explores his sexuality, and all we get is one of the people involved in the show calling him asexual to get people to back off with the shipping.
First of all: it is both ableism AND aphobia, but the fandom never acknowledges the aphobia. In the writers minds, Viktor is just in the way and they want him out of the picture for people shipping him with Jayce, so they slap the label of asexual on him after the series has ended.
Second of all: disabled asexual people deserve good representation. If you think making a disabled character asexual is automatically ableism and somehow infantilizes said character, you are apart of the problem.
I'm not saying there isn't a pattern where a lot of disabled characters get to be the token ace rep as well- there is both an ableism AND aphobia problem here a lot of the times. But once again: disabled asexual people exist and they deserve good representation.
I think Mel King is good asexual representation. Season 2 made me relate a LOT to how she viewed certain things and how distraught she was that her own sister was apparently sexualy active (there is a lot more to this than that, obviously. Her relationship with her sister and how she views her is a pretty complicated matter, but i DO think that saying mel being asexual is adding to that struggle is not out of the left field, especially when Taylor herself said she views Mel as asexual).
But what really bothers me is how the fandom is INSISTENT she is NOT canonically asexual and how that'd be problematic for x and y reasons and that she's actually a lesbian and no wait have you seen the way she interacts with Langdon? Nothing platonic about that.
Disabled asexual people deserve good representation.
It’s my cannon that Grace finds out he’s aroace from Rocky. Rocky gets the laptop and does a deep dive on human gender and sexuality (who wouldn’t wanna learn about alien culture). And then one day Grace casually mentions how he’s never really had interest in dating or sex and hasn’t ever felt that way about someone (perhaps recalling Shapiro and Dubois) and Rocky’s just like. Well yes, you’re 🎶🎵 and has to pull up the wiki article for Grace to read. I just think it’d be so funny if he learns his sexuality from an alien who had no concept of such a thing previously.
I’m living for all the little desert alien au headcanons omg
Scar making little cougar-like purring sounds when he’s happy. Also with what you said about his species being accustomed to using as little energy as possible in order to conserve it on a planet where vegetation and water is hard to come by. I think the hermits would find it a little creepy how Scar can stay completely still for hours on end, with so much as moving a muscle or the softest breathing. And how good he is at camouflaging himself in arid desert areas. Speaking of the vegetation thing, wouldn’t that make Scar’s species more likely to be carnivores? Like, they do eat vegetation when they can get it (probably mostly cactus-like plants), but they’re mostly scavengers and carnivores. Also I think Scar would like getting little belly scritches or head scritches where he doesn’t have scales covering his skin. He may be thick skinned, but he loves the scritches anyway :3c
YES YES PURRING!!! And the food thing- tbh i think his species would eat anything they come by, including carcases. They need to get energy from anything they can I guess. I haven't thought about this in depth much but me and my friends agreed that he'd eat about anything.
Also yes absolutely. belly scritches and head scritches are the best
Had a thought about the belly scratches:
Parents scratching their young ones bellies as a form of affection.
Also, since the stomach would be more vulnerable, showing someone your belly would be another show of trust.
Imagine in 3rd life scar sleeping with his back turned to grian and over the course of the game he slowly turns around until he sleeps face - amd belly - towards grian.
An amorphous black blob thingy that shape-shifts into any hazard related thing.
The Hazard Monster also has the ability to change the reaction of their body. Examples include:
There are other examples of reactivity, but I don’t wanna draw them
