Ma’am???
we been knew but also thanks for saying it out loud
Something about David Duchovny reminds me of that time my absentee father called me to explain why he and my mom got divorced like 22 years after the fact. Men really start seeing the error of their ways decades later when they start adding up the consequences behind and in front of them.
The other thing about my father is that he also has selective memory about the past. And I can't help but observe that GA claims she doesn't remember stuff but *what* DD remembers and shares is from an edited angle. (Might just be for public consumption but also maybe he's forgotten all those interviews they used to give where the strain was painfully obvious.)
can’t believe it took 30+ years (10 for me personally) to figure out the real issue between david duchovny and gillian anderson was never that he was aloof and temperamental while she was green and ingratiating but rather that she could not remember nor care about a single thing she’d said or done a moment after she’d said or done it due to having four thousand things more important than her coworker’s emotional state on her mind as a single mother 20something divorcee tv star meanwhile every time she breathed weird it hurt his feelings for a decade

MARISKA HARGITAY as OLIVIA BENSON Law & Order 24.02 'The Perfect Man'
The fact that David Duchovny is a boomer and Gillian Anderson is Gen X deserves more attention in the analysis of their relationship and differences.
people love to complain about sex scenes in tv shows and violence in movies when the real danger is scenes that make you feel second hand embarrassment.
THIS.
She is so done with "The X-Files"
She hasn't looked this much like Scully in years
Every now then Liv is just a little bit gangster. I mean that in the mobster sense; I've said it before, Liv is the goddamn godfather. And now she's got that big ol shiny captain's badge she can swing her balls around and get whatever she wants; she can take over the scene, now. She doesn't have to stand down bc a higher ranking officer told her to; she is the higher ranking officer. She chooses the detective who owes her, the one whose loyalty will not really allow him to question her, the one whose whole life she could destroy with one tape, to back her up when she goes to dole out some extrajudicial vengeance. I've got the biggest gang in the city she says and she's proud of that
Is it worth pointing out that even the score last night evoked an atmosphere more reminiscent of a horror movie than an NBC procedural like Liv is haunted haunted which brings me to
I am obsessed with the idea that after all these years, after all these things that she has seen, endured, borne witness to, battered with her own hands, that Liv possesses an almost psychic understanding of the crimes; Liv knows that Sydney is not ok, when Sydney's stepmother initially believed that she was fine; Liv understands the criminals' motivations, when Rosie's parents can't grasp it; Liv scents the traces of the girls on the boat like a goddamn bloodhound; townhouse incident townhouse incident; Liv knows exactly what to say to talk that boy around, she knows what he is, she knows how to reach him; she's seen it all before. Who else could do what she does? No one. And maybe that's good for everybody else bc no one should know the things she knows for the reasons that she knows them
How can you talk about anything else today. She was six. Millions heard her cries begging to be saved. We heard her older cousin be slaughtered, heard the baby pull the phone from her cousin's dead hands, heard her cry and beg to be saved, to be allowed to live, to be pardoned for a crime no one in that fucking car committed. The occupation knew she was there, knew she was the only one alive in that pile of bodies, and they killed her anyway. They knew, they knew, they knew. They allowed paramedics to approach her, and then bombed them just mere meters away from her, then killed her. The occupation allowed them to believe she could be saved and then killed all of them moments away from her rescue. She was in a car fleeing the evacuation zone along the correct route as instructed. The ambulance waited three hours, three hours of her being trapped between the rotting bodies of her dead family, for the occupation's permission to save her, and when they gave it, the occupation killed them anyway. What else is there to say. How can you quantify that level of cruelty. How many more worse things have happened that we don't have a recording of? How much evil has the zionist occupation regime been allowed to get away with in the interest of western imperialism? How many six year old girls who love bratz, who have a bluey plush, who want to grow up to be doctors or ballerinas or astronauts, have been sniped from this earth? Their bodies desecrated, left to bloat and be eaten by animals and have their graves bulldozed and their organs taken? At least ten fucking thousand. At least.
