The profession of being a football coach is never easy. It is a difficult one and one that it takes a special person to do. Behind every good coach is an even better family. They are the ones that are the coaches biggest cheerleader on the good days, their support system on bad days, the ones that packs the boxes to move to the next job, the one that comes into a town and makes friends. Well some of those coaches families have stolen a piece of my heart. They are some of the best friendships I never knew I needed. These wives have been called my sister, they have been there with a hug at my lowest, they are the talker and the listener. They are some of my biggest blessing when it comes to friendships. 9/11 a day we will all remember for the rest of our lives. I can tell you where I was when I heard the news! Beginning of the year I had the opportunity to go to NYC. We went to the 9/11 museum and it brought back all the memories of that day and the days to follow. In the first picture you see the guy that works there that tells the story of Ladder 3.......what you don’t see is the guy standing beside us who was best friends with the Captain of Ladder 3. As he told stories tear flowed down everyone’s face. Today our sweet friend Tim will be laid to rest! He was one of the most supportive, loyal and caring people you will ever know. People think pageants are just beauty contest, but they are so much more! It is were you can find your best friend, your role model, your support system and your second family!! I met Tim when we became local directors and I can promise you this he has been all the above. He was our biggest cheerleader and our voice as a local director.
