just start now. whatever you’re holding off on, just start now. don’t wait until the mood strikes. start now. working on it for even five minutes is better than nothing. just start now. now
study moods
sleepy dawn
open windows
listening to lo-fi
wearing pyjamas
planning your day, creating to-do lists
the sky is pretty
spring breeze
coming back after a walk
drinking a glass of water
getting a head-start on the assignment
the great feeling of productivity, ah
cozy evening
sitting on your bed
rewarding yourself afterwards with a bath or chocolate
highlighting with your favourite markers
warm tea or cocoa next to you
night vision
it’s way too late, but you gotta finish that essay
rock music all the way
everything is a mess
you’re gonna be okay though
cinnamon afternoon
drinking coffee
doing some math exercises
listening to a chill/coffeehouse playlist
scrolling through tumblr in your little breaks
Hello everyone!♥ My name is Nana, I’m from Balkan and will be 18 years old in October~ It’s summer break therefore I finally had enough time to start my own studyblr and I am just so excited to be a part of this new community! I made this blog so I can focus on studying more in my final year of High School, but also to meet new people who are interested in the same academics I am. I am also in my 4th and last year of highschool which makes me a highschool senior. I will be graduating next year and after that I plan on majoring International Politics in Nankai University, Tianjin, China.
Besides politics I am interested in languages, literature, history and sociology. My target languages are Mandarin Chinese, German, Bulgarian and Russian.
My main focus right now is Madarin Chinese because I’m taking HSK3 test in December. Also I will try to provide my followers with original context as much as I can!

Planning 2018...
My math teacher told my class that the best thing we could do is plane our whole month every month. She said that her son and his friends when they did what my teacher told them to do, them went from grades of 6 to 9.5 (out of 10). She told us to open up an Excel file and do something like this:
A week planner, but for the whole month.
The time from when your day starts to when you finish it; the days from 1 to 30\31 with their respective days of the week;
In different colors mark your classes, hobbies, lunch, dinner, meetings, etc;
every day save at least 45 min. to review every class that you had that day (pink) - my teacher said that we only need about 15 min. to review a class and that those 45 mins. every day will make a difference.
In the blank spaces, she told us to fill it with study sessions of one specific class, sessions leading to the exam so we can prepare for the exam.
Not only that, but she told us to print about 4 of pages like this one (a whole month) and glue it to our wall or closet, so every day we could wake up and see what we need to do next.
Because I liked this idea, I think its good to share with others. I’m going to start doing this and because school starts tomorrow, I have to do my own week planner. On Christmas, I got a Mr. Wonderful agenda - which I absolutely love - and I’m also going to use that as a planner so I don’t forget the things I gotta do (I tend to forget a lot lol). So maybe I’ll update how accurate this is and if it’s working for me.

How to learn a new language FAST!
Hi guys! Recently people have been asking me how come I am fluent in so many languages. And although I find this compliment to be very flattering, I do feel the urge to share my best tips with you guys. So I speak around 6 languages, but I am completely fluent in English, Croatian and Italian which always seem to interest people the most. Learning a new language does take time, but hopefully with these tips, you will be able to do it a lot faster! 1. START OUT BY LEARNING A LANGUAGE CLOSE TO YOUR OWN For instance, if you are from Spanish speaking area, you might want to start off by learning Portuguese or Italian since all those languages have a similar sound and sentence structure. This way learning process might go a bit faster. 2. BE CONSISTENT
For best results, try leaving out at least 10 minutes or so every day to do something in that language. It can be something as simple as listening a song, even listening someone speak. Just be consistent and I promise you, you will find yourself understanding the language algorithm in no time.
3. LISTEN TO OTHER PEOPLE SPEAK
It literally doesn’t matter if you understand or have no idea what the heck are they talking about. When I first started learning Italian, I just spent hours watching one Italian movie after the other and God knows I didn’t understand a thing, but I begin to understand the way they formed the sentences and noticed the way they repeated same words but in different context. This is a very important tip because every language has that part that can not be translated, nor explained, only understood by Italian speakers. So just find youtubers, movies or podcasts in language you want to learn and take our dictionary with you and listen. 4. LEARN A FEW WORDS EVERY DAY It’s not that hard, really. There are also app to help you (such as Duolingo). Pick a few words and think of a way to make a sentence out of that word. Then try turning that word in an adverb and then try using that in a sentence. For instance, if you were to learn English and your word of choice was ‘beautiful’ use it first as an adjective: “This apple is beautiful.” Then use it as an adverb: “She drew his portrait beautifully.” This way you will learn a few words that go together and be closer to understanding the language structure. Also, start simple. start off by learning the most common and the simplest everyday sentences. 5. SPEAK It doesn’t matter if you’re bad or lacking words, just speak. It is important to use what you’ve learned and practice it. Find someone to speak with. Internet is a huge place and you will find someone to speak with you. Even better if you find a native speaker (who knows, maybe they come to your town as a tourist?) since they will probably be willing to correct your mistakes and you will learn something from them. 6. WRITE This goes with the previous one. If you don’t have anyone to speak with, then write. You will practice your vocabulary and challenge yourself to learn the words that are missing to form a good sentence. 7. DO NOT FOCUS ON GRAMMAR
Grammar will come, focus on vocabulary first. Grammar will come as you begin understanding the language itself. So it takes time, but listen to songs, watch movies and try reading books in that language.
8. HAVE FUN Enjoy yourself. Learning a new language is such a noble thing to do. You will have your mind so much more open and you will be richer for another experience. Also, if you need help with anything, I will be more than glad to help you. My askbox is always open. Good luck.

How to motivate yourself to study?
To tell you the truth Motivation is not the cause for you to keep on studying “sometimes” it can’t even help on getting you started.
It is a small spark of wanting to improve, change, get better, try something new and etc. That strong urge to change but disappears after a certain time. It is usually the strongest after a failure or at the beginning of a new class or when you feel competitive.
The key to keep that feeling is to discipline yourself, to push yourself to stand up sit on your desk open those books and just start. Pretty notes, school supplies, pens, notebooks, desk are only small factors on how to keep the feeling of wanting to study but starting and to keep going is the hardest part of the process. Make it into a habit.
You can keep on looking at pictures of motivational quotes, or videos on how to study and etc. But it would be useless if you are not going to back it up with discipline.
Next how to love studying, engage your mind on the thought of liking studying to study not because you have a quiz tomorrow but the thought of learning something new. “Be like a sponge absorb it absorb it.” studying bits and pieces without a due date feels like small treats of chocolate. By the time the big test come in you’ll be smilling like a maniac that you got a good night sleep, watched your fave show last night and still ace those test.
Next make studying fun. You don’t have to read the book over and over and over again grab a notebook read the topic, process it on your mind like a story then write it down 10x faster than rereading it over and over again.
I know. I’d rather sleep or stay on my phone all day and etc etc. But remember you could fail be embarassed that you failed WITHOUT trying. Nag at yourself. You have exams you want to pass. You want to get that degree. You want to finish school.
These are my thoughts. Unlike waystostudy who can study at hours and hours I can’t yet I’m still pushing myself but so far it has helped me with studying for my review. -Jade-

50 Reasons Why You Should Study
Need motivation?
To get an education.
To earn a degree. There are barely any jobs that offer positions to people without a degree, or are on the path of obtaining one.
To prove people wrong. That science teacher that said you’ll never make it in the medical field? Make him eat his words.
To prove yourself wrong. Every student has doubts on whether or not they can be good enough in the classroom. Prove yourself wrong, and always be better than you were yesterday.
This is a privilege. Regardless of how much you believe that you HAVE to do this, to some extend you don’t. Realize that you have the privilege of an education even being an option for you.
Take advantage of what you’re capable of. Don’t waste a perfectly intelligent mind.
More money. That degree can do wonderful things to your bank account in the future.
It’s interesting. Studying can get pretty boring, but there are always those topics that spark your curiosity and motivate you to learn more.
It’s attractive. Not everyone cares for someone who is academically gifted, but a partner who is eager to learn makes me eager to take my pants off.
It’s useful. That random fact that you read in a random textbook can stick with you and really end up helping you out one day.
It’s fun to know useless shit sometimes.
To make your parents proud. This is one of the main reasons I study. My parents have always been aware of my capabilities and have pushed me to be academically better every year. They know I have big dreams, and I just want to achieve them so they can know that their child made it.
To make myself proud. This goes along with number four. Knowing that you accomplished something, however small or big the thing may be, is a huge self-esteem booster.
To be independent. There’s nothing quite like knowing that you don’t need someone else’s job, degree, intelligence, or presence to make you successful.
To pursue your passion.
To gain knowledge. Whether its in your field, or a completely different one, being knowledgeable is just downright fun.
People will look up to you. Your siblings, your best friends, and your classmates may see you consistently studying, and it could motivate them to do the same.
To make a name for yourself. “Oh yeah, (insert name here), I know them. Aren’t they like really successful now?”
To become your own role model.
To be able to pay off your student loans.
Because the long nights and excessive coffee will all be worth it. Even if it doesn’t seem like it now.
To exercise your brain. Your brain is just like a muscle, and like the body it needs to be exercised.
To improve your hippocampus. Your hippocamus is responsible for memory, and if you study your memorization will become significantly better.
To not waste time doing useless stuff.
Because stationary is amazing. I could spend a whole paycheck on just pens.
Because notes are actually all so pretty.
To be productive. I used to spend a lot of time on social media, and although I still do, the amount of time I spend studying and getting stuff done has definitely increased.
So classes will be easier.
So tests will be easier.
To impress your professors. Get those letters of recommendation!
So the anxiety of getting a bad grade is sufficiently decreased. I constantly worry about my grades, but studying has helped me not worry so much.
Because coffee exists.
There is no other atmosphere quite like the inside of a library.
So you won’t have to retake a class. Failing a prerequisite for your major really sucks, so maybe try not failing the first time around. This also saves you a lot of money because you won’t have to pay for the class again.
Finals week won’t suck as bad. You’ll be used to studying so when finals week comes around it wont nearly be as stressful as for those students who are now opening a textbook.
You won’t go to as many college parties. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for socializing and having fun, but a lot can go wrong at a college party very quickly. And there’s no better way to prevent that, than just not going to the party cause you’re reading your economics textbook.
You’ll get used to FOMO. Fear of Missing Out. Every teenagers nightmare. Eventually, you’ll get used to the feeling.
You’ll be getting the most out of your college experience. You’re paying for these classes. Might as well try your best to pass.
You’ll get used to not getting enough sleep. So, if you decide to go to grad school you’ll have that department covered.
There’s really good study music out there.
I guarantee there will be at least 5 places on campus, or around you that are perfect for studying, and you’ll want to go there everyday.
You’ll become a pro at writing essays, or lab reports.
You’ll learn fairly quickly that study groups rarely work.
You’ll make a lot of friends that are just as passionate about studying as you are. And you will cherish them.
Beauty and Brains. Don’t you want to fit that description?
Thousands of students before you have done it, so you can too.
You can run a studyblr. Aren’t they the cutest?
You get really good at time management.
Sleep becomes 5x more satisfactory after a night of studying.
Because you want to. There’s no better motivation for studying, than the motivation that comes from within.
The curse of a student.
i might not always study, i don’t always do my homework, i procrastinate a lot, i leave things to the last minute, i own like two pencils, my notes are written with a sloppy handwriting and i don’t always get good grades.
there is a lot i don’t do or get, still i’m filled with joy. please don’t be so hard on yourself.
You got this, okay??
