23 by noah kahan but it’s lockwood and jessica
and the “stay gone stay gone won’t you stay gone”
is him begging her not to come back as a ghost
“You know I’ve been running all this time
Sprinting my way past your bedroom
Lifting the weight of you off my mind
Cause if I never see you again
You can be anything I want
23, clean in the engine heat,
Teaching me how the thing runs
Stay gone, stay gone, won’t you stay gone”
I can’t stop thinking about The Great Divide (album) and how several of its songs are Lockwood & Co coded. like Doors is basically Lockwood’s theme song, Staying Still has MAJOR locklyle vibes (shoutout to my sister for pointing it out), and dare I say…The Great Divide makes me think about Kipps and Lockwood (if we go with the theory that Kipps was friends with Jessica and thus was there to see how Lockwood changed over time). Also I’ve been forming a Lucy animatic for Dashboard in my mind lowkey I’m going crazy over this-
maybe if we, as a society, spent more time in gardens things wouldn’t be like this
Reviewers saying the albums too long shit I don’t think it’s long enough
me if anyone cares

Hello tumblr! After over a year of making this account, I’m finally posting some art :)
Here’s a little Lizzy Bennet sketch I did the other day while reading Pride and Prejudice for the first time! I thought it would be fitting to post as today is Jane Austen’s 250th birthday :)
I am so excited to be in Jane Austen's house on her 250th birthday! 🎉🤩❤️🎂🥳
Happy 250th Birthday Jane Austen!
(16 December 1775 – 18 July 1817)
Exactly 250 years ago today, during a particularly harsh Hampshire winter, the seventh of eight children was born into the family of a local clergyman. The name of George and Cassandra's daughter was not officially recorded until the following April, owing to the conditions... but from this obscure start, she would grow up to become one of the most beloved authors of all time. So universally read, that her works have never been out of print; a phenomenally talented pioneer who, despite such scant formal education, used her incredible powers of observation and understanding of the various quirks of human nature to bring to life, as she sat at her twelve sided writing desk, a cast of captivating characters which continue to delight.
It was at this desk, in the cottage which her brother had procured for her, that she wove intricate story threads that ensure her novels are endlessly readable and timeless... hence why they are still being enjoyed and discussed after so much time has elapsed.
Although, in so many ways, she remains an enigma, with so little facts known about her life... we all feel like we 'know' her and have an idea of who Jane Austen is in our heads. That speaks volumes about her talent.
Our world is barely recognisable to the one she inhabited, but Jane Austen captured the fundamental essence of human nature in the writing she managed over the course of her tragically short life, and that is why we continue to delight in her works. In that sense, she lives forever.
Happy 250th Birthday, Jane. Thank you for all of the delight you've brought to successive generations of readers from all walks of life. I cannot imagine my life without your novels... and I'm certainly glad that I don't have to!
A watercolour by Cassandra Austen from 1804, believed to be of her sister Jane.
