WIM Summer Fest Rules
This is a festival to celebrate women in motorsport and female drivers specifically. Therefore, no works where men are genderbent, use rule 63, or center male driver experiences will be reblogged, added to collections, or a part of the festival. We encourage prospective participants to adventure past the male-centric view of motorsport and find female drivers to create for.
ALL types of fanwork, from fanart, fanfiction, web weaves, graphics and more are welcome! We can't wait to see what you create!
Absolutely NO NSFW work with drivers under 18 will be permitted.
NSFW work must be properly tagged on AO3 and Tumblr.
Please keep all fanwork confined to Tumblr and AO3. It is highly encouraged to archive-lock your fanworks posted on AO3 as well
WIM Fest is inclusive to all women participating in motorsport at any level and category. There are hundreds of women, past and present, to choose from, so feel free to get creative and explore new forms of motorsport.

Hello all and welcome to Women in Motorsport Summer fest!
This is a weekly prompt fest to celebrate women in motorsport. Starting on May 31 and concluding August 1, we will share a set of fanwork prompts every Sunday. If you're a writer or an artist or a graphics maker, whether you like open-wheel or endurance, or stock, or rally, WIM Summer Fest is for any art medium and any series that you'd like!
This fest is intended to be as all-inclusive as possible; NSFW works are permitted, and there will be NSFW prompts. However, all NSFW works must be properly tagged, and no NSFW content of minors is permitted. Additionally, this fest is meant to celebrate all the incredible women in the motorsports world, so gender-swaps of male drivers are not included in this event.

Women Racing This Week! 5/8-5/10
This is a huge weekend, clearly! It is hard to know where to even begin! As someone in the F1 Academy server said, "I love when motorsport is back in full swing". Let's look at formula racing first, where the coveted Italian F4 starts its highly anticipated season; it fields a handful of female drivers, there are two Norse-centric series going on with a large count of girls racing, and the all-female Kyojo Cup starts its season as well, joining the Porsche Carrera Cup at Fuji. Also, in the world of stock and endurance, Katherine Legge makes her sensational return to the NASCAR Cup at Watkins Glen series ahead of her return to the Brickyard later this May for the world-famous Indy 500. Also on the NASCAR Stock umbrella, Dystany Spurlock is pulling double duty at WG this weekend with an ARCA National appearance and making history as the first-ever Black Woman to debut in NASCAR Trucks

Apple hosting a dinner to 'celebrate the women of f1' and it's just wags.
Not female drivers, not the mechanics, not the engineers, not the women in hospitality or media. Partners of drivers. There's a lot of interesting sports meta out there about WAGs and their relationship to emotional and physical labour, gender roles and athlete sexuality. But surely that's the same as any heterosexual couple? It doesn't make you a woman in medicine if your husband is a medical professional. We're seeing such growth of women's sports and women being able to be professional athletes; as well as female support staff and coaches starting to be valued for their expertise, it almost feels a bit insulting to lump male athletes partners into the fold.
F1 is known for its gruelling labour practices before even having to contend with institutional misogyny (as well as other various intersections) . Surely the women who have dedicated their lives to breaking barriers deserve more celebration from the global brands who support F1.

and it just never sat right w me. That like, Maya was doing freca! The series above F1a. She was on the grid with current drivers in F1 and competing with them!! And Ferrari sent her back down! They didn’t even have a reason to send her back down, Aurelia was already in the academy and could’ve been the f1a ferrari driver. But no! Ferrari pushed back Maya’s career for TWO YEARS, did NOT support her nearly enough in her championship fight with doriane, favored Alba heavily before she even was officially on the team, and now. It’s almost May, we’ve heard nothing from Maya or Ferrari in months only to find out that she is racing in a small, Belgian-only series in a porsche with no sign of FDA acknowledgement or support
Ferrari abandoned Maya and ruined her single seater career and they don’t even have a good reason for it.
