I really, really, really do not understand how Israel keeps being on the top of the televote. Are the votes bought? Israel is the ONLY country I've ever seen ads for Eurovision from.
I can't believe the Swedes gave their 12 point to Israel in the televote. WHY? What was there to vote for? Did everyone who voted call 20 times just for the sake of it? I really do not get it
And again fuck EBU for allowing Israel in at all, and thanks Europe for saving Eurovision by letting a worthy winner take the win - Wasted Love is not my favorite song out of the year, but JJ is insanely talented and performed the song SO well, he really deserves the win!
I will tell you why: Believe it or not, there is plenty of people who sympatize Israel, or at least they hate certain religions so much that they will put their hate on jewish people on pause for them to fight for them.
So there are a huge amount of people who in other circumstances probably woulnd't vote or even watch Eurovision, but do because they feel that they are giving an opportunity to show their support in a way that might not be possible in their everyday life. Is someone setting them up or did they all came up with the idea by themselves? Who knows.
But the thing is, if other people would want to counter balance this voting block, who would they vote? The best song? The most probable song to win?
As sad as it is, pro-israel voters aren't playing with the same rules as the rest of the Europe. If we don't want Israel to win the next year, it might be that we'd have to take the most probable non-israel contestant and vote for them as one block. But if it comes to that, the whole contest turns into a charade and we might as well end it altogether.
