I think fandoms tend to vastly overestimate the relationship between the audience and the creators of the source material. Creators are not obligated to touch their work ever again. All they did was create a work of art. They don't have to do anything beyond that. At any point, they can say "I'm done working on this." You are their audience, not their constituents.
Waifu carrying contest for the weebs, where you have to carry anime bodypillow across the obstacle course.
Is this anything?
I think some of you people need to google amatonormativity… and like, think about it.
you can actually desire a traditional romantic relationship AND unpack amatonormative ideas within your mind and life. they are not mutually exclusive!
Any plans for the weekend?
Yes
No
I wish more modern problems could be solved by going on quests. “Going to the grocery store is it’s own kind of quest” fuck off, I want to end global warming by throwing a magic wand into a volcano
i love when fantasy novels are about 35 year olds…why is everyone in books 20 or 16 all the time
(defensively) 35 is one of the most normal ages to be
My most old-school internet opinion is bring back chunky scroll bars! I don't want some scroll bar so discreet I can't even find the fucking thing. I want a nice Windows 98-level of obviousness.
when i was a kid i had moments of being so fucking diabolical because i realized at some point the best way to leverage power over my family was to do shit that would make everybody late
our house was in the middle of nowhere surrounded by woods so when i decided i didnt want to wear dresses anymore if we were going to some event & my parents insisted i had to wear a dress i would just go hide in the woods. was so committed i almost made us miss a flight once bc my mom packed a dress in my suitcase
i only promised to stop doing this if my parents got me formal boys clothes to wear which eventually they did. i don't feel bad about resorting to violence bc i asked politely and they said no. proud of 10 yr old me for evil annoying lesbian behavior
5th grade was the last time I wore a dress for school pictures. When my parents attempted to force the issue for 6th grade, I climbed onto our roof and pulled the ladder up after me. My dad borrowed the neighbors ladder. As soon as it touched the roof I pulled it up too. By the time I had 3 ladders they were willing to negotiate, and 2 hours late for work.
[Image ID: a tumblr tag reading "problems that can be avoided if you simply treat your child as a human being with the right to make decisions on what they wear". End ID]
it’s getting weird knowing natural apocalypse from climate change is bearing down on us all and still going about mundane daily life kinda like
hey kids, I love you all and I know things are seeming dire and scary, but
humanity is worth saving, you are worth saving, our children are worth saving and every other life form on this planet is worth saving
don’t give up hope, a lot of painful change is on the way but we still have the power and the resources and influence to do so, I promise
Summer holiday yeahhhhhh
Damn, if there’s anything my most recent post taught me it’s that we really haven’t moved on from transmedicalism and exorsexism as the norm in trans spaces huh. Yeah I’m sorry but binary trans folks if you feel that upset and targeted by a post saying you’re not actually advancing trans liberation by mocking the rest of us then maybe grow the fuck up? “I just want to be NORMAL” man, me too! I would love for my identity to be considered normal. Unfortunately members of my own community are eager to throw me under the bus for .5 cisheteropatriarchy points as soon as it’s convenient, which surprisingly is deeply unhelpful.
no one cares that you shave your legs because of sensory issues shut the fuck up forever
really galling amount of people misinterpreting this post so i'd like to clarify. i'm saying that when discussions about patriarchal beauty standards and the way women are heavily shamed and coerced into eschewing their own natural state of being (hairy) are occurring, it is unhelpful (AT BEST) to interrupt and say that the reason YOU remove the hair from your body is because of sensory issues. that's not what we're talking about. stop asking for validation for doing something that society at large wants you to do. stop derailing the conversation because you feel uncomfortable about being made aware that you, for whatever reason it is, adhere to harmful, unfair and ridiculous beauty standards. you're stepping into the middle of an important conversation that needs to be had and making it all about you. shut the fuck up forever.
also quite frankly i think a lot less people would experience sensory issues if they let their hair grow out so that it isn't bristly and rough and irritating. and i cannot help but wonder why these sensory issues aren't as predominant in men. maybe you're uncomfortable with the hair on your body because you've been taught to be uncomfortable with it. just a thought.
Conservative beauty standards are back with a vengeance which means it's especially important to go out this summer with bellies out and bodies unshaved. Also be unapologetically disabled with mobility aids and wearable medical devices and stim toys and ear defenders and all that stuff. You need it. People need to see it. Everyone needs to be reminded that life is unquestioningly more enjoyable when you're not living inside an arbitrary set of rules created by people who are offended by all the wrong things.
tumblr is great bc its like a diary where I can take other peoples diary entries and glue them into my own diary
