posting my stratt + colt comic on tiktok has suddenly reminded me how such a larger part of fandom is hella misogynistic, especially on tiktok. i got a comment assuming grace assaulted stratt and that is why she's pregnant, and that is such an odd fucking thing to assume? and then there was another comment that said they thought colt was going to KICK STRATT IN THE STOMACH????? which. what an odd thing to say! and also a crazy mischaracterization on colt's part.

people are so obsessed with violence against woman and while i will say that it is interesting to explore and expand on the misogyny in these worlds (like how stratt is a woman who has been thrusted into this position of power and how her being a woman would effect the way the world sees her, opposed to if she were a man) (or like how if grace were a woman in academia, she would not only be demeaned for her thesis but also laughed out of academia on the basis of her womanhood - and these are interesting concepts to explore and expand upon), people immediately assuming that this wasn't consensual or to hurt stratt, a pregnant woman who is clearly grieving the loss of a man she once loved, is so odd when my comic doesn't explore that nor does it hint anything towards that. it's left up in the air and immediately jumping to hurting women (especially a pregnant woman) is Really Weird to Say Under My Comments Section!
