The fact that Mark Cuban can do this is just further proof of how much capatalism is f*cking people over.
Billionaire investor Mark Cuban launched an online pharmacy Thursday that offers more than 100 generic drugs at an affordable price with a goal of being “radically transparent” in its price negotiations with drug companies.
For example, the leukemia drug imatinib is priced at $47 a month on MCCPDC compared to the $9,657 retail price.
The online pharmacy’s prices for generics factor in a 15% margin on top of actual manufacturer prices and a $3 pharmacist fee, the statement said.

yes this is pretty unbelievable right now—but just look at the replies and reblogs of this post—look at all these people on twitter talking about their own experiences with it now too—this is actually real
and yes everyone is waiting for a catch, but remember it is a PRIVILEGE to think about not sharing this information out of spite for billionaires rather than needing this opportunity regardless of how long it lasts or if mark cuban is doing this for his own gain

So, I just saw this on mark cuban’s official twitter, but apparently he started an online pharmacy where he offers generic versions of brand medication for not even a fraction of the cost. as a physician not based in the U.S, it’s really hard for me to hear from friends how disgustingly expensive medication is and as a physician, i also believe that medication should be free and accessible for everyone. however, if not possible to be made free, it should be affordable. ALL forms of healthcare and it’s components should be accessible to everyone regardless of economic status, so it made me really excited to see someone with money and power finally fighting back against that system of over-inflating medication prices to get rich on the backs of sick people.

Now for the good part: his website is called costplusdrugs.com (and if you click the link it’ll take you to it). check out and see if they have your medication. i’m not totally positive how the prescription works, but it’s worth reading up about it. i found one of my friend’s medication that goes for $350+ dollars for a 90 count, for only $6.60. that is… an abysmal difference.

Having Ehlers Danlos Syndrome sometimes feels about the equivalent of being composed of jello and wet spaghetti. Nothing stays where its supposed to. Literally every single cell in the body is floppy, so fingers are definitely an issue for many of us. I can almost guarantee that for the majority of us, writing is not only slow and painful but nearly impossible at times. FIne motor skills? What even are those? An EDSer surely doesn’t have any of those. Even typing which is far easier than writing, is painful and daunting at times. But last year I joined the population of shiny zebras by getting fitted for a set of Silver Rings Splints and they are beyond magical.
For those of you who have not heard of The Silver Ring Splint Company, they are a company that custom makes finger splints that look like elegant pieces of jewelry. Don’t believe me? Well I can’t even tell you how many compliments I’ve received for them. Nobody even suspects that they might possibly be medical. But more importantly, they work amazing! I still have hand pain and finger dislocations when performing fine motor skills and writing is definitely not something I look forward to but I have saved myself thousands of painful dislocations, I can open doors easier, type faster, write longer and hold objects in my hands without looking like an alien from a sic-fi movie. With the rings on my fingers actually look like fingers rather than tentacles!
The company is also family owned and the people are so sweet and helpful!

I’m literally crying right now. I will be able to use my hands!!! As it stands I can’t do dishes, hold things, write, hold books, type, without pain or dislocation. Oh my gosh. This is a miracle.
My sister has these and she loves them. It’s given her new life.
Here’s hoping this post makes it to someone who needs it.
I don’t have EDS but I do have arthritis, and when I have flares these help a lot.
