My blog - just documenting my life in Guam!
“We first met at a café in the West Village, and I was completely taken by her. But the next day I had to leave for a six-week trip to Afghanistan. Soon after I arrived, I bought her a traditional Afghan locket that holds a small prayer. Instead of a prayer, I wrote a little poem, and stuffed it inside. It said: ‘Mountains and months away, and I’m still haunted by one afternoon in New York.’”
Shout out to our not so little girl who just started 1st grade! ✌🏼️
Back at it?
So I completely abandoned my tumblr/blog for a loooooong time. Well I’m back dammit. With us finding out that our little family will be moving to Guam by December (*eyes bugging out*), and a baby on the way (*eyes bugged wayyy the f out*), I figured why not start this back up to share our few months leading up to our little guys birth, and our big move? Not to mention, Eliana just started first grade and here I am sitting at home with absolutely nothing to do.
So lets get back to the whole pregnant and moving thing....but one at a time. Currently I am 30 weeks pregnant with a little boy! We’re super excited about our upcoming addition, however the whole thing was unplanned, unexpected, and just about every other word that describes “completely out of nowhere.” Either way, we’re excited and expecting to meet our little man in September :) Pregnancy has been incredibly easy, and honestly I have nothing to complain about. I’ve never once had morning sickness, hardly anything makes me feel nauseous, and I haven’t had any major complications (fingers crossed). However, with all that being said....I absolutely do not enjoy being pregnant. Good on women who love their pregnant bodies, and have “never felt sexier”... I’m just not one of them. I can’t explain it without sounding like a complete psycho...but I hate the feeling that my body is not really my own. Thats really all I’ll say before someone randomly finds this blog and shreds me to bits. Other than that...pregnancy has been easy peasy.
Now...to the more recent news. We are moving to....Guam?!?! Seriously...who moves to Guam? Not in a “oh that place is so...blah blah blah”...but more in a “I totally forgot that was even a place...wait...what’s in Guam?” Since my husband is in the military, we are getting sent there for the next 3 years! *cray* Now obviously when I found out we were going, I googled Guam like a maniac and researched every little thing I could...except the weird thing is...there really isn’t THAT much out there about life in Guam. I stalk Facebook pages of those who live in Guam (in a totally uncreepy way) just so I can get a glance at what the average day/life is like there. So far I know that the beaches are beautiful, the people are chomorro (sp?), and there seems to be a big love of BBQ and politics over there. Everything else is still up in the air. I will continue to research/stalk until I feel completely satisfied!
Ok, this is becoming wayyy too long. I am going to try and make a habit of updating this blog! Especially now that we plan on moving, I want to make sure I can keep my family and friends in the loop! Plus....I think I’ll be needing a place to vent :)
"My happiest moments were when my mom was still alive." "What’s your fondest memory of your mother?" "One time when I was six years old, we went to pick up my father at the airport. On the way, my mother explained to me the concept of boarding a plane and taking a trip. And then while we waited for my father, we sat in a nearby restaurant, and we planned out all the imaginary trips that I wanted to go on."

Truuuth.
I’ve never made a dime off my blogs. Any of ‘em. I’m a real bad businessperson, and I don’t know how to monetize my work. And truth is, I love writing, and I’ll probably do it for the rest of my life, even if I never get remunerated.
But one of my babies has some challenges: Down syndrome with...
Japanese food is certainly one of my favorites...however, it can get expensive going to authentic Japanese restaurants. Tony and I decided to head to our local Japanese market and pick up a few of our faves...yesterday we made Tonkotsu Curry, and tonight was Yakisoba 😍 Here's a few pics from us (mostly Tony) making Yakisoba...ps-it was delicious ✌️ and with some unsweetened green tea, it almost felt like we were back in Sasebo 💜
Today, Tony and I completed the 31 Heroes workout 💪 This workout was a definite challenge, but also a great opportunity to recognize the 31 fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice 🇺🇸

Just documenting our trek up a mountain with our canine companion, Hagrid.
Just trying my hand at documenting our random life excursions. Nothing fancy...just us doing what we normally do...but adding a camera in the mix. With us constantly moving, and never too close to family, we thought it might be fun to take some videos instead of posting a gazillion pictures. Hopefully I get the hang of it, and eventually understand how to edit properly...but until then...this is as good as it gets :)
