Explaining our story
Hello everyone! We are K System, a plural system currently working on a story about ourselves being isekai'd into a new world. This story is meant to be entertainment for others and also to help us live out fantasies we have as a system and also process some of our own trauma and insecurities we have. We appreciate if you take the time to read our story as we post it. We will try to keep it posted to a part after we finish a part and take questions and reasonable criticism. Chapter 1
An Isekai About a System DID, Dissociative Identity Disorder. A mental disorder caused by severe or prolonged trauma. The human brain in this case can not handle the trauma so the personality dissociates, which causes another personality to form to keep the body alive and moving. The brain essentially forms a team to keep from the mind completely breaking. People who suffer from this tend to be outcast from the world as freaks or fakers, despite how long the idea of it has been used in media from Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde to Moon Knight. These personalities trapped together in one body wish a solution could be made for them but science just never could catch up. If only a world existed where they could get their own bodies…. A rhythmic pulse of vibrations comes from under a pillow, a plain looking larger build girl with brown hair searches for the phone to turn off the alarm “Where the fuck is it, five more minutes just shut up.” She finds the phone between one of her three pillows and swipes the alarm away to silence the buzzing. She lays in bed curling up under her blanket holding close a large dragon plush. Suddenly she begins to hear inside her head “We gotta get up Kelby, just because it’s our day off doesn’t mean we can lay in bed all day.” Kelby sits up in bed and twists her spine to loosen her back. “I mean we could just lay in bed all day, I think that would be a fine way to spend the day.” Eventually after more stretches Kelby gets out of bed and starts the electric kettle in the kitchen. As she waits for it to boil she sits at her desk and begins to look through all the monitors. She had left herself in a call overnight like she does every night, she sees she is the only one left in there “guess they went to work already, I hope customers aren’t too much of dicks to her today.” The switch on the kettle can be heard flipping back off and Kelby moves back over to the kitchen, the convenience of such a small apartment. She pours grounds into the french press and pours the hot water over, the smell of store brand regular coffee fills the room. Another voice from inside her head begins to say “Delicious smell, I just wish we could have something far more exquisite once in a while.” Kelby rubs her eyes and speaks aloud “Yeah Circe I know, you and Vee both complain but 15 dollars for a can of grounds that last us like 3-4 months is far more affordable.” Kelby proceeds to strain, pour, and add powdered creamer and sugar to the coffee in a mug. She walks over back to the desk, the door of the bathroom opens and her roommate slumps back half awake to their bedroom alcove where her desk is located.
The fronting personality swaps to Kelby who puts on some skinny jeans, a graphic tee depicting a metal band logo and some biker boots. After looking in a full length mirror for a minute and taking a picture, the flow has Vee swap in. He sets rice cooking and begins cutting ham slices into smaller squares. Vee fries the ham with some frozen mixed veggies and a shredded potato before adding in seasonings and the rice with soy sauce to make their morning meal topped off with a fried egg and black pepper. The five in one body sit down to eat at their desk with a cold can of ice tea and lemonade, enjoying the savory msg dish to give them the energy they need for the day. “Alright we’re ready to get shit done, let’s get out of the house” Vee instructs Kelby who is currently at the front to do. A blue and yellow hoodie is grabbed and the mental team heads out for the day.
They head out walking down the street as Kelby feels their phone vibrate “Oh sweet just got a message that the artist finished our commission.” Kelby downloads and opens the image on her phone. A family photo-esq artwork is shown, depicting all of the headmates ideal selves. “Wow I look really good, a simple black suit with my long red hair, grey streak and piercings. I wish I could get our actual body to look that thin though.” Vee admires his own image in the artwork. “Wowie look I’m so cute, they got my pink hair and left eyepatch right, and my cool body suit and tech jacket. I get to ride on Vee’s shoulders too!” Eden cheers about seeing their own self in a way they wish they could recreate in person. “My my, the slender look I have. The finely pressed white trousers. The tight black sleeveless top. My lovely short green hair with faded purple streak and elegant dragon horns. It’s all so marvelous.” Circe enjoys looking at his own physique a bit too much. “My hair looks so fluffy, they got all the different shades of brown for my hat, sweater, and shirt right. My eyes are so bright and green, the blonde of my hair is so cute. They even got the goat horns right, I love this so much!” Sacry fawns over her simple yet unique appearance. “Wow, got the side save right, all the patches on the vest, hair is the right shade of light blue, even the torn up under shirt and pleated skort. God I wish we had big chunky boots like that in real life.” Kelby takes in her punk look, enjoying the expression she wishes she could have everyday.Our team heads on down the main road of the city to the local mall. “Can we visit the book store?” Sacry asks timidly as she thinks through all the books she wants to get. They enter the mall and head for the book store, Sacry awes at the selection but sadly knows she can’t afford any of the nicer hardbacks “My turn! I wanna go to the anime store and look at the digimon stuff!” Eden takes control and runs over to the anime shop, staring and wishing they could afford the giant Greymon statue. “Alright enough yearning for your digital dinosaurs, I wish to go peruse the adult shop.” Circe takes control and proceeds to the “adult shop” and looks at their many collars, restraints, and… toys. “Alright you Elizabethan whore, I want to go look at the record shop.” Vee takes the lead and looks through the metal bands, wishing he could afford the price tag of at least one. “Ok everyone it’s the hosts turn and I wanna go look at the cute clothes at the alt store.” Kelby jumps in the driver seat and guides them all to the alt store, looking at the clothing with small japanese mascots on them, long since ended animated shows, and over-priced pocky. After the 5 have done their window shopping they grab some chinese food and sit to chow down.
As they stuff their face with fried rice and meat their phone vibrates, Kelby picks up and checks the notification “Oh, looks like roommate is having trouble with her pc not starting and needs us to get home. Guess we’re cutting the day out short.” the other four collectively groan in their head but reluctantly agree that she needed their help. The five finish up their rice and then crack their fortune cookie “A major life event is coming soon” Kelby tosses the fortune into the trash with their food container and leaves the mall heading for home. They walk down the road waving at random animals they see from squirrels to dogs, Eden attempts to play with one of the stray cats they see but Vee quickly puts a stop to that. Just a fairly nice day for the mental quintuplet, enjoying the sun and the peaceful slow nature of a day off. “We don’t get this enough, working two jobs to keep up with how the world is. It sucks, I just want to go on adventures everyday.” Kelby thinks into the headspace of 4 others, all collectively sighing a bit knowing this beautiful day will lead to several weeks of straight workdays. No rest for the system that helps support another system that can’t find work in the messed up world that is earth, wars ruining the country they live in, people at each other's throats for simply existing. So little peace in the world so needing to take in what little they have. “Can we grab a snack from the corner store on the way home? We gotta have something sweet today!” Eden presents the idea with the energy of an excited small cat just seeing a catnip toy. “Ya sure Eden, we can grab something from the corner store before we head home.” Kelby diverts them to a small shop not too far from their apartment. Not knowing this will be the last snack they have in this world.
