GISELLE ANDALASIA. // THIRTY-TWO. // MAGICAL. // FASHION DESIGNER & SMALL BUSINESS OWNER.
Even though she’d never seen any real life examples of true love, Giselle always knew it had to be real. The stories she grew up reading had to be real, or at least hold a decent amount of truth to them. They were wonderful and magical - and everything Giselle wanted in her life. While she loved her little cottage and adored all of her animal friends… it was indeed a bit lonely at times without having much other human contact.
Surely she knew that she had to have some kind of family, someone who had taken care of her when she was young - but Giselle doesn’t remember anything about that time. All she’s ever known is being alone in the cottage with her animal friends to help her. And trying to think back to a time before that only ever hurts her - quite literally. It gives her an awful headache and sends her into a dizzying spin. So well, Giselle simply gave up on trying to remember. She had a portrait of a woman that she assumes is her mother - and the stories that she comes up with for the life they may have had together were enough to keep her satisfied. Or at least, they were for a while.
Until the occasional streaks of loneliness started coming on more frequently, and they started being stronger than ever before. It became clear that surely this must be a sign. A sign that it was time to leave her cottage and head out into the rest of the world to find her happily ever after. While she had always assumed it would eventually come to her one day, the fact that it had been years and hardly anyone had ever come by the meadow other than her animal friends and the occasional visitor had started to make Giselle think that perhaps she should put her future in her own hands.
So she left and headed towards the first place she could find - which happened to be Walt Grove. Which turned out to be exactly where she was meant to go because it was there that she met Edward. From the moment their eyes met, Giselle knew he was the one meant for her. Her true love - the person that would finish her duet and bring her the happily ever after she had always dreamed about. It was only a week after having met that they decided to be wed - something that any other person would find to be absolutely ridiculous and rushed, but Giselle didn’t have a care in the world how quickly it was all happening. This was true love! And with true love, time never mattered. You could wait a hundred years for them or simply a handful of days and the end result was always the same: happily ever after. Or so, that’s what she had thought (and still does think, in all honesty, considering she doesn’t remember anything that would teach her otherwise).
But the night before her wedding, when Giselle met with Edward’s step-mother, what was supposed to be a mending of broken bridges turned out to be the end of Giselle’s fairytale happily ever after. One sip of the drink Narissa had offered to her had the redhead blacked out. What happened afterwards, Giselle still doesn’t know to this day - every time she tries to think back on that night she gets the same sickly feeling she used to get whenever she thought about her childhood. So rather than focusing on what happened, she decided to move forward.
Even though she could only remember her life in her cottage, Giselle was smart enough to piece together that she had to have left to come to Walt Grove for some reason. And that reason had to have been her true love - someone she had obviously been meant to marry, considering the ring on her finger and the wedding dress she had been found in. It made complete sense to her and for about a week after settling in with Robert, Giselle had been determined to refind her true love on her own.
Except… that search never seemed to work out. She met lots of wonderful people, but no one that seemed to remember wanting to marry her and no one that instantly sparked that feeling of true love. She thought perhaps that might be because she’d already met them before, so the spark of love at first sight wouldn’t happen again… but whatever the reason was, Giselle stopped trying so hard to find the person she couldn’t remember and decided that when the time was right, they would show up. And in the mean time, she was going to enjoy her time with Robert and Morgan.
If she were forced to be honest with herself, she’d realize that she was far happier living with the two of them than she’d ever been before and a small part of her wonders if this true love that’s waiting for out there will ever be better than this… But those are the type of thoughts she likes to think about. It brings up too many questions about everything she’s ever thought she’s known and it always made her a bit upset. So instead she shoves them away and focuses on what makes her happy, like her newfound family and her business.
Though she doesn’t know it - the same sort of potion that Narissa had given to her the night before her wedding to Edward had been forced upon her one other time before. It’s why she cannot remember anything about her family or past. It had been another rogue witch that had stolen Giselle’s family fortune, but didn’t have the heart to kill the entire family - so instead she simply made them all forget each other and separated them. Unlike Narissa’s poison, the witch’s wasn’t as strong - and if Giselle were to ever run into either of her parents again, she would instantly remember everything.
The meadow she lived in before actually isn’t as far as it might seem, considering Giselle often seems like she’s come straight out of an entirely different world. In reality - it was only on the other side of Walt Grove’s forest. Close enough that if she had wanted to, she easily could have accessed the city. She never ventured out that far though. Sticking instead to the small town that sits on the other side of her old cottage, with a population of under a hundred people and nearly every citizen being well over the age of fifty. They all looked after Giselle, seeing her almost like a granddaughter, and whenever she came into town they made sure she left with all supplies she may need until her next visit - completely free of charge. The liveliness that she brought to the small downtown every month or so when she came around was more than enough payment in their eyes.
Because of that Giselle’s never had to deal with having a job before or worrying about money. Which is why she was so confused when she first came to Walt and hardly anyone seemed to just… give her things for free. Sure she knew in theory that in other places people have to pay for their belongings, but she’d never experienced that herself. Luckily she did have a bit of savings that she brought with her - the tiny amount of money that had always sat unused in her cottage that she assumes must have been from her mother - but that was hardly enough to make it through even a week. Which was another reason why she and Edward had agreed to marry so quickly. And after her blackout spell, Giselle was twice as lost. It was Robert that kept her afloat. And Robert that showed her how to start making money for herself as well! She’d always designed and created her own clothes and jewelry back home, but never had she thought she could actually sell it to people!
Her etsy shop is called Andalasian Treasures. Robert is the one who sets all the prices for the items she sells, having let her do it on her own at first before realizing how much she was underselling herself for. Giselle runs a bit of a social media presence for the shop (which includes a LOT of emojis in every post) and she’s in charge of chatting with customers - but when it comes to anything regarding prices, sales, or discounts she never makes a decision without Robert. Or at least, she tries not to - but sometimes she finds herself falling for a good sob story and knocking down her price for a specific customer in secret.
Is new to technology. Still figuring out how to work it all - but she’s a very quick learner. Does not understand texting or internet etiquette at all. Will triple text you without any hesitation. And there will be at least ten emojis in each of those texts. Even if they don’t make sense, Giselle throws them in.
Slang? She does not know it at all. Though she finds it so amusing (but also confusing) and is constantly asking people to explain what they mean.
Favorite color is pink! But she also loves blue. And purple! Oooh green is pretty too. And florals - that’s not a color, but she loves it too.
Can spend HOURS in the fabric section of a craft store. Even if she’s not buying anything (because she’s been put on a budget that Robert oversees to ensure she doesn’t just… buy every single piece of fabric that the stores sell), she’ll just walk around wondering at all the patterns. Also loves her some ribbons too.
Considering she doesn’t remember anything about her own mother - it’s hard for her to know what that type of relationship is like… The whole mother-daughter thing…but she thinks that if it’s anything like what she shares with Morgan, then it must be even more wonderful than she ever could have imagined. She loves that little girl more than anything. Even more than she thinks she’d love her own true love… which is a strange thing to think about. It also has her wondering if perhaps there are more than just one kind of true love.
Often has flowers and ribbons in her hair. And she’s getting into makeup!! It’s not always perfect by any means, but she loves playing around with it. Is a big fan of color and glitter!!
ADORES her magic. She’s always known she’s had some kind of magic in her - even before she realized that not everyone can talk to animals like she can. Robert often has to remind her that it’s forbidden to show her magic in town, but even with those reminders… Giselle often forgets and finds herself speaking to any and every animal that crosses her way.
Doesn’t know... anything really about sexuality. But - she does know that love is wonderful and magical, and that she wants to experience it regardless of gender. Aka she’s bi but doesn’t now the labels.
Has been with Robert and Morgan for about three months now.
