SNOW WHITE || TWENTY-FIVE || KINDERGARTEN TEACHER || NON-MAGICAL Intro and Headcanons * Losing both of her parents tragically before the age of 20, it’s safe to say Snow’s had a rough upbringing. Giving love to others is her way of shielding herself from the pain of knowing that there’s a void deep within her that can never truly be fixed. * Snow really, truly, cannot bring herself to hate anyone. Sure, some people act meaner than others, but she truly thinks that they only put up angry and tough exteriors to hide from their own pains, and that’s how she bonds with them. * After her mother’s death, she didn’t rebel in the way most teenagers would. Instead, she became extremely withdrawn and depressed. Instead of bringing peace to everyone around her as best she could, she would instead go several school days without talking, only writing in her journal, eyes glazed over from lack of sleep. * Even though they take a lot of energy, her kindergarten kiddos are her favorite people in the world. There are some days where she comes home and has to distract herself with something serious to stop her cheeks from hurting from smiling too hard * In her off-time, she loves to bake and cook and just...share food with her friends and neighbors. Poetry also holds a special place in her heart, as the class she took in high school was pretty much the only way for her to get her complicated feelings out onto paper and off of her chest * Her feelings for Florian can only be described as “What if we...what if...what if ʷᵉ ᵏᶦˢˢᵉᵈ jkjk...unless 👀

Snow White's Outfit for the 2021 Walt Grove Winter Ball

While there were things about the wintertime that Dory very much appreciated - the lights and colors, all the pretty decorations, the wonderful music, the gift-giving, the smiles and happiness especially - she was much more of a summer girl. She tended to thrive in warmer conditions, ones where she could swim in the pool or go to the beach or play on the playground with the kids at the daycare center. But these days were spent inside for a the majority of the daylight hours, keeping warm and staying close, watching Christmas movies and making holiday cards by hand at Sunnyside, teaching children carols and having them teach her how to play Dreidel. Despite it only being the middle of the afternoon, the sun was already beginning to set and the dark cold was setting in, which made her run to Lucky Cat Cafe for something to keep her warm and going for the rest of the day.

Wrapped up in layers of cozy winter attire, she approached the table with two drinks in hand - both hot chocolate - and a smile on her face. “ I thought I’d grab one for both of us, ” she told her friend, not remembering weather they ordered one for themselves or not, but knowing regardless they’d appreciate it. “ Hot chocolate is one of those wintertime staples, y’know ? You gotta have at least one before the year is over. ” She sat down and leaned in, whispering as if it was a secret, her smile growing just the smallest bit mischievous, “ But the homemade stuff is always better, in my opinion. ” But there was no doubt in her mind that Cass and her crew made one of the best business-made cups of hot chocolate in Walt Grove.

Snow felt a sense of relaxation wash through her fingertips and around her body from the moment her fingertips graced the Styrofoam cup. "Thanks so much. I needed this." Condensation puffed around the rim of the cup. Snow's cheeks were flushed as she felt the heat warm her taste buds. After taking her first sip of the piping hot beverage, Snow nodded. "It definitely is. It's like somebody decided to turn everyone's most wholesome winter memories into a drink."

"Sorry, that definitely sounded odd, didn't it? I guess what I'm trying to say is that this time of year is magical. Of course, there's beauty to be found anywhere and everywhere if you look hard enough, but there's something about the holiday season that never fails to bring people together." Another sip of her hot cocoa, this one longer now that it had cooled down ever so slightly. "Though you are right; Every family has their own recipe for hot chocolate it seems. I'm thinking of introducing my family's cocoa recipe to the kiddos tomorrow."

"Oh! How much should I pay you? I couldn't possibly let this act of kindness go unthanked." Snow smiled, using her free hand to ruffle around in her purse.

It’s wasn’t uncommon to find Giselle strolling through the park, often times with Morgan but she spent a good portion of her time there alone as well. Being out and in the fresh air always reminded her of her old little cabin, and hanging out in the park was far less daunting than heading to the forest. Plus there were so many potential friends to make around a place like this! From the roaming animals to anyone walking around, Giselle never struggled to find a new creature to talk with. And today was no exception, far from it in fact, because she was in desperate need of an opinion or two. A kind looking squirrel was counting its acorns in a tree and the redhead was just about to head over towards him when a stranger came into view. A young girl, in fact! “Sorry little buddy, but I have a good feeling that she may be a bit more helfpul,” the redhead whispered up to the squirrel, offering a bright smile and a little wave before turning to the person walking by. “Hello there!” she calls out before making her way over. “Do you have a moment to help me a bit with the design I’m working on right now?” It was important to ask before assuming someone wanted to help - that Giselle had learned early on in her few months of living in Walt Grove.

Snow smiled, waving at the woman and the small squirrel who scampered up the old oak tree behind her. “Oh, that sounds lovely! I have to admit I may be a little bit rusty on the artistic side of things when it doesn’t involve crayons or macaroni art, but I’d be more than willing to help out, Miss…” “I’m sorry, I don’t think we’ve met before. My name is Snow White. And you?”

It was no stranger that Finn wasn’t the hugest fan of Halloween. It wasn’t his favorite holiday by any means but he did appreciate the fact that the holiday brought out the creativity in others when it came to dressing up for the occasion. The dressing up aspect of the holiday was by far the main thing that Finn did like about the holiday, though after he began working at Sunnyside’s and celebrated his first Halloween there, he also realized that he very much enjoyed getting to bring candy for his kids and seeing what sort of funny and kooky costumes they decided to wear. But if there was one main thing that he didn’t like when it came to Halloween was the scary costumes that others tend to wear, and as someone who frightens easily, seeing people dressed up like that can be anxiety inducing if he didn’t pay close attention. That’s why, despite already agreeing to go in matching costumes with Ariel to the bash, Finn had been a little unsure on whether he should attend or not just for the sake of not accidentally running into someone wearing an exceptionally terrifying costume there. Fortunately, Snow wasn’t one of those people. “Wow, don’t think anyone t-thought to dress up as a-a deer before.” He noted while smiling at her. “The flower crown’s a n-nice touch too.” [ @decemberwhite ]

A shiver ran up Snow's spine as she was startled out of her dazed train of thought. "Oh! Finn, hello! And thank you!" Snow focused her eyes through the dark of the dance floor, making out a suit, a tie, and a fedora. "You're that one gangster, right? Clyde something?" Though he probably couldn't see it, a blush came across her cheeks. She must've sounded foolish. "Sorry, I've never really payed attention to criminals and things like that. I've always preferred to see the light in the world, myself."

Snow's Costume: A deer

If Snow was being completely honest with herself, she wasn’t the biggest fan of Halloween. Sure, seeing her kiddos dressed up in their favorite costumes was always a highlight of the season, but she would usually spend the night holed up in her cottage than risk spiraling into a panic attack.

This year was going to be different. She was among friends. Friends who wouldn’t die of food poisoning if she offered them her childhood candied apple recipe, or come back to haunt her in miserable nightmares around this time of year just because of the familiar chill in the air. She could do this.

Snow sped down the sidewalk, the crisp autumn wind blowing in her face. "Oh, thank goodness I finally caught up to you!" Snow smiled, easing the two of them into the conversation. I was just about to head home, but before I left for the day, I wanted to ask you something. Are you alright? I feel like every time I see you, you're uneasy. Did I do anything to bother you?"

By far the biggest influence in Snow's childhood was her mother. While she was definitely her father's little princess, her father was also the family's breadwinner and so was away on business a lot growing up.

After she was done with her daily lessons, her mother would turn any chores they had to do into a game. Some of her happiest childhood memories involve Snow and her mother dancing around the cottage to The Beatles with brooms in their hands. Making chores and clean up fun is a value Snow always wants to keep close to her, and to this day she'll turn on a C.D of mellow, kid friendly music in her classroom as her students tidy up after lunch.

(TW: Illness, vomiting, death) For someone as cheerful and optimistic as Snow is, one would think she was fairly fearless. However, she has a multitude of fears including:

Emetophobia (The fear of vomiting, sickness) This is her biggest one, yet not many people know about it. When she was 15, she and her mother both got extremely ill after unknowingly using contaminated apples in a recipe. For several days she was delirious, paralyzed in her bed and unable to do as much as sit up in bed by herself. After she survived but her mother didn't, the phobia only got worse

Nyctophobia: When dealing with the illness, she could hardly keep her eyes open for more than a few moments at a time. This led to the feeling that she was drowning in darkness. It took her until her senior year of college or so to sleep with the lights off, let alone without a nightlight.

Thanatophobia: When her mother died, her world was shattered. She was no longer safe, and felt like she or a loved one could die at any time and leave her all alone. Of course, when her father died in his accident right before she graduated from high school, the idea that something dark was destined to happen to her too was cemented in her mind.

Due to growing up as far away from the city as possible, her closest friends were either imaginary, or animals that had grown to trust her after her years of living in the cottage.

She didn't seem to mind this, and would actually try to talk to the animals as a source of comfort, even if she knew they couldn't understand her.

Ever since the brief but serious illness Snow had as a teen, she's been dealing with sleep paralysis and (currently undiagnosed and unknown to her) PTSD. Her mother's ghost has been in many of her waking nightmares.

It's no surprise to anyone that knows Snow that she is an avid baker. However, what may surprise people is just how much her baking ties into her emotions; Is she happier than usual? She'll experiment with all sorts of recipies and flavors. Sadder? it's alllll comfort food until she feels better. More scared? Well, because she's so anxious, you can taste her fear in the pastries.

"In my mind anything that makes the world a more loving and friendly place is a win in my book." Snow nodded. "If everyone in the world could see that equality for all doesn't mean less for anybody else, what a wonderful world that would be!"

"Oh yes, I'm alright! That injury from a while ago healed quite nicely!" Snow smiled. Ever since the whole incident with the badger a month or so ago, Snow had to remind herself to not throw herself into helping every animal she came across. "And are you okay? Physically, mentally emotionally?"
