“What could be worse? Not gettin’ paid? Then there’d be no brothel,” she scoffed. “He gives us nothin’ but the basics and no more. He’s greedy, cruel, and only cares ‘bout himself. I bet if he smiled his damn cheekbones would crack!” Georgia crossed her arms with a little huff.
The cowgirl nodded, giving a bit of a shrug. “There really is. Lots of nice people caught up in this place.” She sighed. “I mean, it’s okay here. It’s food and a bed, but doesn’t really feel like home, does it? I think it’d be nicer if we could all have our own little houses.” She laughed a little. “It’s outrageous, but it’s definitely a dream.”
“Him? Relax? Never.” She shook her head, and then slowly grinned. “’Less we drug him or get him an overly alcoholic drink. That would be a good time, right?” Georgia grinned, a little spark in her eye. “Maybe then we could get what we want? Finally in writing?” She suggested. At the second comment, Georgia tapped her lip in thought. “I don’t think he could get more angry. He hates me enough, so I could get away with it pretty easy. It’d be worth it.”
“Hm, I suppose so? I try to think that everyone has the capacity to be good, even if it doesn’t seem like it. But even I have to admit he really is difficult to deal with sometimes.” Meg mused, she really wanted to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, even the grouchy boss.
There was a slight pause, Meg supposed that for most people, this place was just temporary. Somewhere to stay until they find something better and get back on their feet. That was fine, if the Emporium could be that kind of place it made her happy, but it also meant that many people saw it as rock bottom. “I suppose it doesn’t feel like home for most people. I don’t know if it does for me anymore either, not since Louise left.”
“Little houses would definitely be fun. We could all live nearby each other and visit when ever we wanted. If you wanted to go see someone they’d be just a few steps away.” The elf agreed whole heartily, smiling at the thought. It was a dream that likely wouldn’t come to be, but it was fun to think about none the less.
“I don’t know about the drugs, but I’ve seen him have drinks at the bar before. So it might not be that hard to get him drunk? Though it doesn’t seem right to make him agree to something when he’s inebriated.” Meg mentioned. It was true it might make things easier, but it certainly didn’t feel right. Then the last thing Georgia mentioned made her think for a moment, “I still don’t understand why the boss hates you so much? You seem so nice to me. I think he’d really like you if he gave you a chance.”
