This is just a really bad retelling of Romeo and Juliet. I wrote this in freshman year of highschool. Idk what this is but kinda was on crack and free will while writing this, good luckšš ironic thing is that i actually love Shakespeare
oh the joys of hormones
A bunch of horny teenagers die while trying to get together. That is a basic summary of what happens in āthe tragedy of Romeo and Julietā by Shakespeare. While the actual play has more depth and meaning, the shorter version devised by yours truly is much more entertaining. The sad tale of two teenagers who meet during a party and fall in love but belong to opposing families is one that everyone knows. The sad part though lies at the end of the story where the two lovers die. The blame of this story should all go to the ones 6 feet under, Romeo and Juliet. since throughout the whole story they didn't think about how their actions have consequences.
The tale goes as many know, two people fall in love and then they die together due to their families not liking each other. However, I believe that the blame belongs to both families since they were the origin of the feud but the children carried it on and the servants since they also were fighting with each other. We don't even know why the fighting started but they just go with it and it turns into a whole thing that the entire town is sick of. It's like siblings fighting every day and you have to hear them, the urge to just hit them to just shut them up is strong.
Then there s Romeo and Juliet who aren't even proper teenagers mind you, they don't think about their actions they don't even know each other's names before they make out. In the beginning, when they first met each other they just flirted which is understandable but then they meet later in the same night and have a whole make-out session with each other. But the real problems lie when they decide to marry each other, and ladies and gentlemen that was just a mess.
See the problem really starts when the two love birds decide to get married, which is a problem in itself since they haven't even known each other for a whole f***ing day and they want to get married. They get Friar Laurance, the apothecary, and their own cousins die due to their actions. They meet during the night after the party and talk about how much they love each other, then they talk about marriage and plan things out, and they know about each other's families so they made really stupid in the moment decision. They get married the morning after and get Friar Laurance into the fray and get him to marry the two, which is so stupid even Friar Laurance thinks it's stupid but he goes through with it anyway saying ā...so soon forsaken? Young men's love then lies. Not truly in their heart but in the eyes..ā(II. 69) Then later on one thing leads to another Romeo getting banished after killing Mercrucio but only after Mercrutio kills Benevilo who is Romeo's friend. So ya that happen but over on Juliet's side, she had gone to friar larunce to get a plane to run away with Romeo since her father wanted her to get married to like 35-year-old, Paris. The rest goes how many probably know it, Juliet fakes her death Romeo finds out and goes to see her after he went to an apothecary for some poison and kills himself to ājoin Julietā but the thing is he doesn't even ask nicely when he does go and asks for the poison
ācome hither, man I see thou art poor: hold, there are forty ducats: let me have a dram of poisonā¦ā(IV.61). Really, the blame should go to the rash and of-the-moment decisions made by both Romeo and Juliet.
I think overall Shakespeare wants to show us how love, no matter how short, can make someone stupid and rash. Don't go rushing into things especially when it is been less than a day since it started. Romeo didn't even wait a whole a** day before he decided āyep imma marry her even though i just got over her cousinā. This entire play kinda just scream at you to not do what the characters do in the play. They unwittingly cause so much damage with their actions and they don't even live to see it all since they die within two days of knowing each other. So in other words, don't rush into romance or anything else that might have big consequences.
