The Story of The Forgotten Girl
Don't be dismayed. And don't you dare be fooled. This girl isn't the victim, she's the reason she's unknown. She wades alone in the troubled waters of her mind, searching for the answers only she can find. And she'll find them with no help from you or I.
This girl isn't the victim, she's the reason she's unkind. Her eyes reflect the sadness of the crippled heart she wears inside her chest. But don't you dare be fooled. She's the reason she's forgotten. She's the reason she's the girl you never knew. Just let her be the girl she needs to be, with no help from you or me...let her be the girl, that lonely, forgotten girl, until she decides to be known. Until she decides to call her aching body home to rest in the silent company of her weary mind.
When she needs you, you will know. But until then, she'll stumble along on her own, without a home, without a friend, without anything that would tell her she belongs to someone other than herself. She'll never slow down until she's finally okay with feeling alone. She’s no more the victim than the thoughts she entertains are suicide notes. But she'll be okay. She's okay.
And someday, she’ll come home.
