Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
I get why people bring it up but everytime I see posts that are like "x fandom/community has a racism/misoginy problem" im like damn but at least its just them. would suck if it was the whole society thank god its just people who play a specific videogame

Something is missing from the debate over educationally suitable literature
i wish we were able to talk about women's rights without someone mentioning how much they do or don't want to have sex with them. i don't care if you're a lesbian Stop finding worth in women purely from their perceived attractiveness
"I think women should not be expected to shave for societal respect / to avoid discrimination" "yeah🤤 i love bush" ok well that's not what we're talking about is it.
i hate how many posts about trans women deserving respect always devolve into "I love girldick" or "trans rights but I don't want to date a trans person" because that's entirely unrelated to the topic at hand. you should not respond to feminism with "YESSS I loveeee you because I see you as nothing but a sex object" you people sound like other men I get stuck talking with that end up saying "free the nipple so I can see boobies in public" and thinking they're feminists. why can't we just respect women regardless of your attraction to them or not. why does it need to be brought up in every conversation regarding their rights

add me to your discord server so I can do the online equivalent of arriving at a party saying hi to the people I know then standing awkwardly in the corner for the rest of the night
I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.
I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.

I’m not sure if this will be helpful to anyone, but you literally do not have to be a good writer to write and post fan fiction. Yes you will naturally get better at writing and finding your voice the more you do it but you do not have to be or become a professional level writer to enjoy writing and sharing fics. It’s common to hear people praise fic writers by saying their work is better than published books, and while I think this comes from a good place, that’s not the norm or expectation. There is also a sentiment that fic writing is “good practice” for becoming a better writer or doing something else later, but if fic is the only creative writing you ever do that is literally okay. Your technical skill does not mean you cannot have fun and build community with your writing, or that other people cannot love and find meaning in your work.
Fanfiction is a hobby. You are not obliged to improve at a hobby. You are not obliged to monetise a hobby. You - the hobbiest - are not obliged to be on par with professionals.
Turn your back on the insidious whispers of the capitalism mindset and return to posting fics that make you happy and are tagged "srry if thsi is confusing its 3am n i'm high".
Googling a word as a writer that you've always assumed has one meaning is so stupid because, on one hand, why doubt yourself? You used that word before, it's a normal word, and it will mean what you think it meant. You're just wasting time that you could use for actually writing.
But on the other hand, what if you find out that it's not what you always thought it is? What now? Now you question your whole existence, and there is no time left for writing anymore.
?
isn't making sure you're actually writing what you're trying to write important, when you write?
lik, it's the point of writing in the first place, to convey something through words. so if it's not the right maning...
The truth is it disturbs your writing flow. I'm mostly writing in my second language. If I start second-guessing words I'm using and looking them up, trying to find them in a similar sentence to make sure I'm using it correctly, then I stop writing. With writing, there is time for research, there is time for editing, and then there is time for actually writing. Mark the words you're unsure about and look them up later when you're editing. Don't disturb your flow because it might be difficult to get back into it.
