18.3.2026 - 11/100 days of productivity
Well it’s been a week from hell. I’ve not been able to touch school at all in the past few days as I’ve been dealing with unprecedented circumstances, and now I’m quite a bit behind on top of not having begun to study for my two exams tomorrow and Friday.
Life truly isn’t fair sometimes, and it’s so difficult prioritizing studies when something’s just happened that rocks your world, but all one can do is lift one’s head up high and plow on through, so this grind is about to be like no other.
Most pressing are my astronomy exam tomorrow in the morning, and my e&m exam Friday at noon so I’m going to cram those these next two days and then address the mess of other assignments and quizzes and research work from this week Saturday and Sunday.
Astronomy study plan for today and tonight:
Galaxies, mergers, & environments skim lectures 13-15, memorize formulas/relations)
Dark matter and active galactic nuclei (skim lectures 16-18, memorize accordingly)
Cosmology (lectures 19-22, most math-heavy so specially focus on equations)
Flashcards
Write and rewrite equations
Go on Starbucks walk to clear head and reset
Upon returning, attempt to regurgitate equations, noting areas that need more intense memorization
Familiarize myself with cheatsheet
Practice questions
14.3.2026 - 10/100 days of productivity
Another bookstore study day today! I ran into a group of my friends on the bus, everyone was headed to indigo to study, what a serendipitous day! Study and yap about books 💗
Picked up Convenience Store Woman for my next read, my one girlfriend was raving about Sayaka Murata so I figured I’d dip my toes in with this little short one.
Finish and hand in magnetic fields comsol assignment
Begin studying for astronomy exam (evolution, ellipticals, mergers)
9.3.2026 - 9/100 days of productivity
Winter wonderland out of nowhere today, it’s like Christmas again! It’s not stopping all day either, what a lovely day to cozy up and study hard. 💗 To-do:
Do some comsol work
Begin implementing projectile physics in game
Study for e&m midterm
12.3.2026 - 8/100 days of productivity
Yesterday I failed to finish my to-do list for the first time since starting this challenge 🥲 we made it all the way to day 7, but I suppose it was bound to happen at some point. It was quite an ambitious list I set for myself. Nevertheless, we persevere.
Astronomy quiz
Multiphysics quiz
Look over and hand in econ work
E&m lab report
Do multiphysics assignment
Explore multiphysics project ideas
Meet with internship manager at 3
Gym at 4
Lab meeting at 6:30
Leave for the city no later than 8:30
Another busy day boy oh boy
11.3.2026 - 7/100 days of productivity
Hefty to-do list today fellas
Finish economics spreadsheet (risk mitigation & discussion)
E&m lab
Create outline for e&m lab report
Study for astronomy quiz
Do multiphysics assignment - everything but writeup
More QKD lab work in the evening
10.3.2026 - 6/100 days of productivity
I interrupt our regularly scheduled programming of study setups to show you my puppy in a blanket. Snug as a bug in a rug.
This week was looking so light, I was actually ahead in my work and then bam 4 new things got assigned and now it’s not looking so light 🥲
I seriously need to start working on my course projects but I keep pushing them off cause I have more pressing deadlines but at this rate I’m going to be stressing finishing them last minute 😭 hopefully I get enough done today to be able to start on them tomorrow. To-do’s for today:
Add to scope code in lab
Call old work and get tax form
Finish videogame physics assignment
Start on economics work so most is done b4 tomorrow morning
9.3.2026 - 5/100 days of productivity
Meeting up with a friend to study today, and I always work better with a friend so no excuses I’ve got to get a lot done today 😌
Economics quiz
Finish and hand in e&m assignment
Finish and hand in video game physics assignment
Go to the gym
8.3.2026 - 4/100 days of productivity
Happy international women’s day! 💗💗
Big meal prep day today and I’m going to see my friend later so I only have time to fix up my code a little bit before starting on the cooking. That book I picked up yesterday, Hungerstone, was absolutely incredible, I highly recommend to gothic horror lovers if you’re looking for gorgeous writing and feminist themes.
Add outline for photon noise detection to scope code
Cook cook cook!
7.3.2026 - 3/100 days of productivity
Calm day today! I’ve gone over to the bookstore to work, picked up a book I intend to read on study breaks, aiming for a pomodoro work session long enough to finish the book! It looks so good, a sapphic gothic vampire story.
Complete e&m assignment
Complete book (~300 pages, light work)
Get basic geometry down for comsol project
Lab work in the evening
6.3.2026 - 2/100 days of productivity
Day 2 is underway! I do have a fitness class and a birthday party to get to today, but am still aiming to get one full assignment done. Tomorrow I’m spending a full day in the lab so would really love to get this one out of the way!
Yesterday was a good start to this challenge, I managed to do everything I meant to. Hope this continues 🤞
Rigid body collisions assignment
5.3.2026 - 1/100 days of productivity
Finally going to hop on the 100 days of productivity trend, I need so badly a rigid system keeping me accountable. My worst habit right now is setting (perhaps too ambitious) daily to-do lists and finishing nothing on them, so hopefully posting here every single day and seeing either my victories or failures will motivate me to be more productive.
I’m afraid it’s a classic case of senioritis - I know I’ll be out of school for a year after this semester’s done and my brain’s battling me to check out of the productive student mode. Really not ok considering there’s two whole months left 😭 normally this happens only around finals
I think it’ll be quite satisfying seeing the checked off lists on here so I really hope this is my saving grace. Alas, for today:
Hunt down and find green lasers among the undergrad labs (whoever’s hidden them from me count your days)
Make sure microcontroller code works with new lasers or tweak if needed ahead of meeting
Have QKD lab meeting
20.2.2026
Hello people in my phone, happy to say that since my last post I’ve secured a 16-month engineering internship! Soooo relieved I can stop with the applications, that was eating up so much time.
Now I can focus on school which is still beating my ass, got two major class projects I’d better get started on seeing as there’s only two months left of school.
I just had the most lovely reading week that included a Valentine’s getaway at a ski resort and celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday, it’s just been the perfect break. I feel so refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the semester.
Aside from school, I’m currently working on finding a new apartment since the job’s in another city, which is bittersweet because I love my current place so much. I hope I can get it back when I return to uni.
31.1.2025
That start to the semester hit me like a transport truck omfg
I’m alive though, just barely making it week by week. Trying to do a full course schedule plus lab research plus getting out internship applications and interviewing feels like three full-time jobs sometimes
But things are going alright, I’m designing a pcb in the lab rn which is one of my fave things, and also doing some microcontroller work as well which I also love. Embedded systems engineering has my whole heart <3
Gotta start working on my final project in video game physics as well which is building a physics engine, I’ve not started yet with this mountain of other things but 😣
I’d love to just secure a job already so I can stop doing applications and focus all my energy on my classes, but the job market is sooooo ugh I don’t want to talk about it
Anyway, just a little update that I am in fact still alive
4.1.2026
Hello 2026🥳
New term starting tomorrow, got lots of plans for this year. Hopefully everything comes true 🤞 The previous exam season was the best I’ve ever had, so if we can keep that ball rolling that would be so great
Most excited for astronomy and videogame physics, dreading e&m and multiphysics, and more or less ambivalent about econ. My schedule’s not so bad this time, I finish at 1:30 half the week😌
Hard to lock in to be honest after the most wonderful holidays, I’m going to miss my family so much.
Manifesting lots of focus and great grades for everyone this semester!
9.12.2025
Study sessions and lord of the rings 🩷
9.12.2025
‘Tis the season of all nighters, and surprisingly I’m handling them fairly well? Call me Kay Chung
Look at this dog I met at a bar she was just hanging out absolute cutie
Okay, ready to live in the world of numerical methods for the next couple of days. Here’s the to-do list until the final:
Go over lecture slides (1-10)
(11-20)
(21-34)
Make formula sheet (one with notes from slides, one from quizzes)
Especially review FDM and FEM
