I'm a front desk associate, my job calls this position the Concierge - I fucking hate that and will never refer to myself as that because it's not a correct description of what I do but nevertheless - my job is to be a conduit that communicates information from one party to the appropriate person who works here. My job is not to keep track of the whereabouts of each person who works here, nor is it to walk around the building to find them when they don't tell people where they're going. It's their job to be available or let us know how to reach them.

so god damned sick of being treated as if every thing I do at work is wrong when it's just not what one particular person - who does NOT sign my checks - thinks about it. why do people get hired at a successful company and barge in making changes and judging the things that made that company successful. Don't yell at me across the lobby to get my attention. Come over and communicate with me in complete sentences. Also, do some common sense preparation. Have enough staff scheduled to help you. Like, do your own fucking job before you try to criticize mine.

It's insane yet unsurprising that white people would rather sue and claim their rights (to what? I don't honestly know) were violated rather than admit their own racial biases are causing them to give the wrong diagnosis to black people and causing their death.

This is the one symptom (is that the right word?) that makes me wonder if I am autistic because this feeling of not being able to human correctly has happened my whole life. But cPTSD does that as well so who really knows anymore and it's not as if there's any real fix for this regardless of which thing causes it so I guess I'll try to accept it.

Getting a job is hard enough, and keeping it through the first 3 months to a year, is all tough for a lot of us for a variety of reasons. A huge portion of what makes it difficult is navigating the invisible rules of each workplace. No matter what questions you ask, there will be at least 1 rule you break that you never knew existed, that never existed in any other workplace, and you will only learn about after you break it. Ok, cool I guess this is the only way a workplace can function since it happens literally everywhere, doesn't seem very efficient but I'm just a nd 40 yr old woman, what the fuck do I really know about anything?

What always trips me up is after maybe 9 months or 1.5 yrs, whenever you think you sort of have a handle of how to address the things that come up - suddenly your boss tells you to handle that task completely differently - the one you've already done a million times one way - is now supposed to suddenly be done a different way? When did this change occur? Have I always been doing this wrong? Why didn't you tell me if that's the case? And, why are you acting like this didn't just change? Why is everyone gas lighting the fuck outta me? And, I just have to suddenly act like this new thing is totally normal, not ask any questions about it, and just take it in stride that things can suddenly change with no warning or acknowledgement. Very strange.
