Fix Default Replacement Skins

A few people have messaged saying they can’t see the screenshots on @dustvy’s post, so here’s a quick rehash of the tutorial. 

The October 6th patch has broken ALL Default Replacement skins. Skin Details and skin tones (like @lamatisse​’s bare skintones) are unaffected. Onto the tutorial.

Download S4PE (scroll down to assets, click S4pe_V0.5.5-beta.7z) Unzip it (I use WinRAR, and double click the exe file.

Click file>open, locate your skin and hit open. On each instance of RLE2, double click, double click again.

Paste in JUST 0x2BC04EDF. Hit OK. When you’ve replaced each instance, (it took me about 3 minutes with copy/paste).

When you’re done, hit SAVE AS, and rename it something like CreatorNameSkinNameFIXED. Remove your old skin from your Mods folder, pop your new one in your Mods folder and you’re good to go!

A group of modders, led by Basemental and Nisa K., has taken over the late Scumbumbo’s mods. The mods are now (mostly) confirmed working or updated, and are hosted at:

Call Anytime, Chat Longer and Gain/Lose Relationship Mod Updated

This mod, originally by scumbumbo here at MTS, has been updated by me to patch 1.53 since scumbumbo seems to be MIA again. This mod allows you to call sims anytime, even after midnight! You can also now chat longer with sims, and while chatting gain or lose relationship with that sim (depending on your status with them). Works with Island Living and patch 1.53! Should work with patch 1.52 as well. This mod needed an update after the Off the Grid lot trait was introduced. :) Enjoy!

Hello! I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to let you know that your ROM female outfit conversions don't work as BGC, they show up with the black boxes and question marks that normally show up with cc when you don't have the right mesh

hi!!!!, i double checked using the home pc that only has base game on it and i couldnt find any issues, my only thought on what it could be is if your game hasnt been updated, as i think i did use a BG mesh that was one of the free outfits we got in the latest patch. :/ im sorry that i cant help. is anyone else having this problem???

I gave Darling Walsh a makeover. With the proper eyebrows, she’s actually pretty. And anyone looks better when they have eyelashes. I tried to make her look mostly be ‘GNC’ (Gender non-conforming). I also changed her walk style from tough to swagger. I reshaped her jaw a little and lengthened her eyes. I pulled her eyes apart so they weren’t so close together. Lastly, I enlarged her irises quite a bit. Very small irises (or too big) look unnatural and a can lead to a ‘cartoonish’ look. 

I still firmly believe that anyone who thinks sims 4 sims look too cartoonish is just utterly shitty at designing sims to look like humans. Learn how to properly proportion a human face, okay?

Renaming Your CC for a Faster Game

I saw a post about this over on GOS and I thought that I’d write a little tutorial on doing this, as I’m awful at following anything but the most simple directions and I know that I’m not the only one haha! I take no credit in finding this out, just for writing this in a very simple way haha!

You need: Bulk Rename Utility CC is a huge part of our game and often the undoing of our much loved saves. It’s very easy to accumulate CC, yet we know that it can cause our game to lag. We’re a hardy (and stubborn) bunch in the Sims Community and lag time of up to an hour is not unheard of. A large part of the lag is often down to the game’s inability to read characters and spaces in file names. It’s pretty common to come across a piece of CC that has some sort of symbol in the name; “[]” and “~” are pretty popular. Did you know that the game can only understand underscores (_) and hyphens (-)? Even a space can spell disaster! By removing all other characters and spaces, the game has an easier time understanding and loading our CC. But imagine having to go through several gigabytes of files to fix this problem   This is where the Bulk Rename Utility comes in!! It does the work for us. 1. Download and install the program in the above link. 2. Back up your files (optional but probably a good idea). 3. Load the program and find your CC folder (for your game of choice, this works for TS3 and TS4…and possibly TS2). 4. Select all of the files within that folder. 5. We’re interested in the section with the header “Remove (5)”. 6. Click in the text box marked “Chars” and hit the space bar. This will remove all of the spaces in the file names. 7. Tick the box marked “Sym.” This will remove all symbols. 8. Click “Rename” in the bottom right hand corner. 9. If you have multiple CC sub-folders, repeat for all of them. 10. Play!
