A limited edition 4-pack of #cocacola I designed in conjunction with the #TogetherIsBeautiful #SuperBowl2019 spot this year. Honored to have worked with such a wonderful team (including brilliant poet, @the_beccas and a slew of other folks far more talented than I at @wiedenkennedy). Feels good to help share a positive message with so massive of an audience. https://www.instagram.com/p/BthEevTAKro/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=qlm9cr3ool7i

Grey J. 63 Cubed Labyrinth Stencils Spray paint on Bond November 14, 2017
This stencil design was based on a labyrinth mosaic found in Felix Romuliana, a 1,700-year-old complex of Roman palaces and temples located at UNESCO World Heritage Site Gamzigrad in modern-day Serbia. The shape of the stencil marries a two-dimensional cube with a labyrinth. If you follow the white space of each cube, you will end up at its center. Vertical lines were added to the sprayed section of the design to give it depth, and for the more utilitarian purpose of keeping the stencil from falling apart while spray-painting it. Three iterations of the stencil were cut and sprayed a total of 63 times to complete the pattern.
This was fun.
Also, the complex pattern made the depth of field function (aka #portraitmode) on my phone #glitch out around the edge of my fingers. #mildlyinteresting
New #labyrinth #stencil project came out less than perfect, but still pretty pleased with it. Good analogy for life. Will be #wheatpasting it tomorrow. (at Wieden + Kennedy)
Pretty fired up to see how my new #stencil sprays. Based on a #labyrinth mosaic at #felixromuliana in Gamzigrad, Serbia. Stay tuned. #cube #geometry #patterndesign #opticalillusion #depthperspective #stencilism
#WIP: #labyrinth #cube #pattern
#Focus #opticalillusion I threw together for @wkstudiopdx's @designweekpdx #wheatpaste show. Swing by @wiedenkennedy tonight (5:30-9p) for drinks, tunes, and to check out some far more impressive #posterart than my slapdash job. There's some truly impressive work up. #dwpdx #typography (at Wieden + Kennedy)
To all those who have asked where my Paper Tooth Brush set for Adobe Illustrator went, sorry. The link died when Dropbox changed the way their public folders functioned, and I’ve been caught in a move so haven’t had a chance to update it. New download link here, enjoy!Â

W.C. Fields said, “If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bull.”
I say, why not dazzle and baffle people with a brilliant bull?
The JPEG with words for when you want to show you agree with 99% of the world and find atrocious acts of violence despicable also. (If you don't share, it means you obviously support terrible things).
Sometimes the design process yields insight as interesting as the goal itself.
I'm starting to suspect I go deeper with my guides in Adobe Illustrator than other designers...
This is a design I made a while back to incorporate as some cover art for the Lantern Journal. It’s my very loose interpretation utilizing the color and design of the classic "Navajo pattern" which I gave a scientific lilt by incorporating it into a sine wave. To flesh out the design, the outward ripples/strata of the wave grow at the golden ratio of phi (1:1.618). After several requests I finally got around to putting it up on the Equal & Opposite Redbubble store here.
For all you sherry lovers out there, I finally updated an old infographic I had originally proposed for The Beagle in New York that went unused, and have made it available as a print. Perfect for the oenophile (wine connoisseur) in your life. The circular infographic features the types of sherries ranging from the most dry and least aged in the center, and extending outward to their derivatives and the sweetest/fortified sherries. The bottom of the poster contains the famous quote from Sir Alexander Fleming, “If penicillin can cure those that are ill, Spanish sherry can bring the dead back to life.” Get yours today, now up on redbubble!
