Just a little test sequence about a complete bastard. Wanted to see if I could make clip studio act like storyboard pro. The answer was yes, with a few actions I managed to get all the same functionality.

Also I think I might re-use the characters for other sequences. Build up a little stable maybe?

1. References, like, so vague you’d need knowledge of seven different fields or are a writer yourself

2. Supernatural???

3. The narrator is talking to you, sassily.

4. There’s, like, a lot, and, I mean, a lot of, you know, commas.

5. There’s this unrelentingly idiotic and dense character who you’re supposed to love ???

6. Someone’s traumatized.

7. Be ready to fight an army - alone.

8. Duos! Good things come in sets of two, and that includes characters!

9. A third wheel, who was supposed to make that duo a trio, but got lost on the way.

I have this story, right, and this story comes from very deeply from my mind. I’ve had flashes where I could clearly picture multitudes of scenes, all with the same characters, and I’ve spent the last year linking them together into an even larger story. I know when to put which scene in the grand scheme, and can instinctively feel the characters’ development, relationships, motivation, etc.

UNTIL

I was in the middle of writing a scene, and a totally new character appears. She literally stepped into the scene without warning, and it was like a sucker punch to my flow. I thought “Who’s this? Why is she here?” and she said “Fuck you, write me in!”

So for every scene that I thought I knew and could write easily, suddenly she’s there and telling me to write her in, because she feels like it.

I’ve never been held hostage by my own character before, but now there’s no way I’m getting rid of her.
