Kazuha slowed to a stop, the corners of her lips lifting into a small, almost relieved smile at the sight of him.
"Hi."
It came out quieter than she'd intended, but warmer than she'd expected.
Her eyes followed his toward the spare bat resting on the bench. "Scared?" she echoed, a quiet laugh escaping her, making her way to the bench. "Oppa, I survived Madame Volkov's ballet classes in Moscow."
She gave a small shake of her head. "A baseball machine doesn't stand a chance." She reached for the bat, turning it over in her hands for a moment before giving it a careful practice swing. "I can't promise I'll be any good," she admitted. "But I usually pick things up pretty quickly."
A playful glint flickered in her eyes.
"So if I accidentally hit one before you expect me to..." She shrugged lightly. "Try not to look too surprised."
The smile lingered for another second before she nodded toward the machine.
"Okay."
"...Show me how this works."
Madame what? Ballet classes built like military bootcamps, apparently. None of it managed to move the expression beyond one slow blink beneath the brim of that dark cap, bat remaining balanced against one shoulder while whatever heroic backstory it contained just drifts ever so harmlessly into the open air.

Just dismissed. Not cruel. Almost impressed but mostly entertained as the spare bat already made its way between careful hands before any instruction can be given, turned once, grip tested, weight measured, then carried through a practice swing. Continued to be unmoving. No stance had been corrected. No step had been taken despite the invitation tucked plainly inside those last four words. Only the bat from shoulder lowered, planting its rounded end against the wooden floor between both sneakers.

The machine answered with a hum, a red light blinking once above the feeder. The crooked grin returns, waiting for Madame Moscow's school of ballet and survival to be put into practical test.

The disbelieving, lazy curve of Eric's smirk was way too satisfying, especially paired with the way he was now staring up at him. "Bro, you mysterious?" he scoffed, his grin widening as he leaned a bit closer over the railing, entirely enjoying the view of his internet friend losing his cool. "You had your dick out in the chatroom, what are you even talking about?" Β
He let the silence stretch for a beat, the quiet hum of the Han River and the distant clank of convenience store tables filling the space between them. "So," he started, the smirk lingering on his lips as his hand dropped back down to the railing. "This is like your third meetup now, right? You've just been out here meeting all my subscribers?"

He knew exactly who footlongskateboard was. Eric hadn't tried hard to be low-key on the chatroom, and a recent gym selfie heβd dropped into the channel definitely hadn't gone unnoticed by the subscribers or by rikipedia. The younger male had filed the image away, amused by the realization that the guy behind the keyboard was standing just a few feet away, completely oblivious to the fact that his "internet friend" was also a fellow idol. Pushing himself off his spot, Ni-ki took a few lazy steps over. He leaned against the railing right next to him, propping both forearms against the metal bar and tipped his head slightly, his eyes tracking the amber glow of the cigarette as it dipped and rose. A smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth, the kind of look that said he knew a secret, and he was having a hell of a good time holding onto it. "What's up, footlong?" he said, his voice full of easy amusement.
The cigarette almost flies out of his fingers.
