Howdy folks
Hi there! I’m Marcus Bass, a 30 year old New York native & graphic design enthusiast. This page is for my scholarship application to the Shillington School for Graphic Design. Every image/post added to this page was personally picked by me to show the kind of work I’ve been doing over the years.
I’ve been learning and creating digital art for about 15 years and I’ve decided to compile many works I consider to be my best, my favorite and pieces which I learned a lot from. These comes in many shapes and forms and are all significant to me in some shape or form.
I hope these pieces give a better idea of who I am, what I’ve done and most importantly, my potential to be and do more.
- Marcus
Developed this for Anarchy in the MK, this unfinished idea I had about mixing Super Mario Bros and Punk. Tell ya what though this is probably the most Punk Rock Goomba you’ve ever fuckin seen
Unused perk Childkiller art from Fallout 2. I found the black & white so I just colored it in. Definitely some time after I played Fallout 3
A photo from the Freedom Tunnels. Can’t even remember when I took this picture if we’re being honest. I’m awful with the years.
Robot Gir. Another rough, scanned lineart, but I like it because it’s rough. It’s not good, but it’s sure fun!
Some fun I had on my old forum. Someone posted this “What does He-Man see?” photo and I added Don Hertzfel twist to it. His anus is bleeding!
Forum sig I made for myself a few years ago featuring everyone’s favorite fighting school girl, Sakura.
I have too much love for this awful, amazing movie
A Drake poster I made using existing art by an artist whose name I never caught. Does anyone know? I want to be able to give proper credit. I did this for a friend of my friend Bex and the image was supplied, so I honestly don’t know who made it. It was totally free, so I’m not making money off of someone else’s work. A drake fan just wanted something to hang on their wall
Yo not gonna lie I’d straight up use this shit as an umbrella don’t even act like you wouldn’t
For all of you G1 Transformers man out there, it’s everyone favorite Decepticat, Ravage! I’m very proud of this one. It is inspired both by Transformers and Puma sneakers. Particularly the font. I spent quite a bit of time drawing up letters inspired both by Transformers and Puma logos and I think it came out super well.
I even have one on my wall. I also have a few prints of this available. It’s 8x10 and I sell them for $5. I only have a few, so hit me up if you’re interested!
Series of parody album covers I made for a blog I made mourning the loss of meaningful video game manuals. Activision was at the front of this movement. The blog post is several years old, but given the almost total removal of game manuals, I think it holds up. It can be found here
Was heavily watching Battlestar Galactica when I made this. Really I just learned how to make spacescapes then I added the Galatica and a couple of vipers to it. I wanna say... 2008? 9?
I realized that Steven sort of reminds me of another husky guy who likes to sing and sees magic in everything.
Early GIR Sketch and color. Very fun and very crude stuff. from 2006.
The digital version of the Doctor Manhattan Funko Pop I made. Created this using a scan of a Funko pop DIY box and Illustrator. Even if no one sees these it feels good to upload this stuff
