He only observed her in silence. Why… hasn’t she attempted anything yet? To be honest, he expected her to try hacking into his systems by now. And yet, here she was, chatting so casually as though they were old friends. Then again, she could have possibly done something discreetly. As far as he knew though, nothing was wrong for now.
‘Best friends’… A wry grin crept its way onto his face, whether he noticed it or not. This woman was a riot. He couldn’t, for the life of him, figure her out. The hacker hadn’t caused any harm upon him. In fact, she was pretty much asking for his permission. He had no clue what would happen if he gets hacked. Was it a risk worth taking?
“How do I know if I can trust you?” The cyborg finally spoke, focused, though tone of voice laced with a hint of uncertainty. He wasn’t opening up. Not yet at least. This could very well be some sort of a trap, and he was prepared to attack should she try anything fishy. For now, he would observe. She did say she was willing to work for it. Perhaps he was willing to give her that chance. Heh… now look who’s treading on dangerous ground…
luckily for genji, sombra hadn’t tried anything behind his back. as untrustworthy as she was, she did have her own sort of honour code that she abode by, to a point. if it didn’t interfere with her self-preservation, safety && survival it was less of a coin toss if she would stab him, or anyone, in the back. the cat-like grin on her face brightened up at his words. it wasn’t much, but it was a hook she could try && reel in.
“by the very fact that i’m asking you, making you aware of my ultimate goals && not going behind your back to do them anyway?” she suggests with the rise of a slit brow. that much was true, at least. although less could be said for the information she’d dug up previously, which was certainly gotten without his permission or knowledge.
stepping closer again, she slung an arm around his shoulders, inspecting the purple nails of her gloved, hacking hand outstretched before them. she was always personable. some may have been offput by the confidence && closeness, but she had a feeling the casualness might work better than stiff formality. “i could’ve popped out of the shadows without even so much as a ‘hi birdy’ && had you hacked && doing talon’s bidding. why go through all the theatrics when time is such a precious thing. ‘sides, you name something that’ll make you feel like trusting me && i’ll do it. within reason of course.”
