Hello—! I'm Essie the Islander Nona Femme. I created this blog primarily as a digital journal, where I discuss butchfemme, Sevika, and other interests I have—and will continue to have. The nature of this blog will be somewhat nsfw—I am a very horny fairy princess, so tread cautiously, folks! All intro: #essie's first bite 💋

🚨 URGENT: Escalating Violence Against the LGBTIQ+ Community in Indonesia 🚨
The situation for the LGBTIQ+ community in Indonesia is reaching a critical and dangerous tipping point. Recent government actions, specifically Presidential Regulation No. 111 of 2025, have officially classified the spread of LGBTQI+ culture as a "non-military threat" to the state. This harmful state-level rhetoric has already emboldened anti-LGBT groups, sparking a documented surge in harassment and abuse against LGBT university students during recent Pride Month celebrations.
Tragically, this state-sanctioned hate speech has now escalated into brutal physical violence on the streets.
🛑 Hate Crime Alert in Bogor, West Java 🛑
As reported by Pelangi Nusantara, a targeted and organized series of attacks has just occurred in Bogor:
At least 15+ trans women have been brutally attacked by an anti-LGBT group.
The violence is being actively provoked and documented by an Instagram hate account called @bogorbersihlgbt.
Victims, many of whom are vulnerable trans women surviving by working on the streets, were punched, kicked, doused with urine, and in some cases, stripped naked.
The victims are currently suffering from profound psychological trauma and serious physical injuries.
We cannot stay silent while our community is hunted and harmed. Here is how you can take immediate action to help:
✊ 1. REPORT THE HATE ACCOUNT
Go to Instagram and report https://www.instagram.com/bogorbersihlgbt/for promoting hate speech and physical violence. Encourage everyone you know to do the same to get this dangerous account taken down.
🤝 2. DONATE TO THE VICTIMS
The victims urgently need financial support to cover medical treatments and daily needs during their recovery. Every contribution matters:
Please copy, paste, and forward this message to your networks, allies, and group chats. We need to shine a light on this cruelty and protect our marginalized communities. 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
AND, if I say that Legally Blonde (and Elle the TV Show) speaks more about femphobia on top of misogyny (even lesser about her being blonde), would people be able to sit and listen?
begging fellow nonblack people to take antiblackness seriously. this includes digital blackface. why are all your memes and reaction images depicting Black people showing any sort of emotion. why do you find it acceptable to use AAVE as a "joke". remove your head from your ass and ponder that for a moment.
The Tattoo Post™️ is so revealing of the current state of trans discourse online. Really it’s quite a fascinating case study. Right from the jump we have the weirdly paternalistic framing that trans men should run tattoo ideas by their friends, insinuating that trans men innately have poor judgment. By singling out trans men as a demographic rather than just advising people get feedback on their tattoo ideas or stating that they think the tattoo in question is bad, OP implies that it is trans men specifically and no other demographic that deserve to be held to this level of scrutiny. And even if you stripped the weird gender wars bullshit away from the whole thing, there remains the fact that putting a stranger on blast over an innocuous tattoo is deeply weird and uhhh bullying? Just straight up middle school bully behavior? What the hell is wrong with you?
Anyway here are my favorite notes
Exhibit A: The very feminist take that people socially/medically/legally classed as female aren’t oppressed on the basis of being socially/medically/legally classed as female.
Exhibit B: Seeing a non-sexual image of a trans man and immediately thinking about him bottoming. Because sexually objectifying random people for no reason is, again, very feminist. 🙄
Exhibi— okay I don’t have anything to say, I’m just enamored by this one. What does it even mean. What if a cis guy was a trans guy. What if the world was made of pudding. What if words meant nothing.
that scene where gideon is so happy that harrow listened to her that she picks harrow up and spins her around, calling her all sorts of thinly veiled compliments and harrow just. goes completely limp. so red. tells her not to make it weird and scurries after palamedes.
as a butch, i appreciate you talking about how your femme identity doesn't center butches because i'm the same but the opposite.
my identity as a butch has nothing to do with femmes or what i could possibly give to them. i love femmes and they've done great work in their communities, but my butchness is uniquely mine and shaped by the way i was raised/how i grew up, especially while being trans.
while femmes and other butches are definitely accounted for within my identity and advocacy, to me, being a butch is my identity and doesn't rely on anyone else
Agreed. I have seen many butches talk about how their butchness isn't centered around femmes and I love that. I wish we also have more conversations about it amongst femmes at large.
Just saw someone saying that femme is "reclaiming of femininity under QUEER CONTEXT that is separate from men! It's SUBVERSIVE!"
So... femme men exist, have always existed, will always exist. Two, I will take the word "subversive" from you folks now bcs you clearly don't know what that means. If the subversion of femmeness comes from it's separation from "men", you have a very narrow understanding of queer context outside of your comfortable anglocentric-eurocolonial framework of sexuality & gender. And if you try to argue that "men" only means cishet men, you are NOT subverting shit (I can even argue that it's also bordering on transandromisia but that's for another day).
If I'm being honest, any post reiterating the same conversation to uphold or reject the "stereotypes" of butchness and femmeness is useless—when the inaccurate misinformation of these identities is especially rampant in butchfemme collective. The normative collective didn't even contextualize their history faithfully, what makes them think they can decide what is or isn't butchfemme? These post aren't building a conversation on what these identities means, on what can be done in the community to make it a better space for MOGAI individuals. Like... please, can we get on w it already?
guys i’m so sorry to say this but exercising and indulging in hobbies rather than scrolling on your phone for 200 hours actually does improve your mood and overall mental health, this has deeply upset me more than anyone
