It's not life or death, not really anyway, but I need to transition, and I can't afford it. I have outstanding medical bills aside from that too (my stupid work insurance makes me pay the first $1,000 out of pocket). I'm mid-move right now and money is tight. There's so much going on. But mostly I want to fund my transition.

It's embarrassing to ask, because it feels like I "should" be doing this myself, but I also think that this kinda stuff is what community is for. So if you're able and willing, I really would appreciate mutual aid. Again, it's not urgent, don't break your bank, I'm going to try to save on my end either way.

Hi everyone unfortunately I am back

I have good news, which is that I finally managed to make an appointment and get a prescription, and I'm making progress!

But the bad news is insurance is kinda fucking me over again. There's a copay of over 100 dollars for getting my HRT and other medications.

Again it's not life or death, but if you like my silly posts or the things I make and you wanna support me, transitioning is the most important thing keeping me going right now. So as long as it's something you're comfortable with I would really really appreciate the help.

i don't really want to weight in on the "using big words in your writing is ableist" discourse happening on tiktok because i'm like 90% certain it's an anti-intellectual psyop to stir up drama in online circles to promote the use of ai to summarize literally everything and thus feeding the LLMs and lowering the populace's mistrust of such tools but i also have to say: dictionaries and thesauruses are the most accessible they've ever been. if you use an e-reader of any kind you can look up a word without leaving the page. there's a plethora of online dictionaries and if you just type a word + "meaning" into google it'll usually give you a definition. we used to have pocket dictionaries we used when reading in class. i have two on my shelf right now that i used in high school. stop letting the fascists purposefully misuse anti-ableism rhetoric to trick you into never thinking again.

a large majority of TMEs haven't unlearned the patriarchal idea that womanhood is a bad thing, and they do not believe trans women actually seek and embrace womanhood. a lot of them seem to think we only want (and experience) the surface level aesthetics of womanhood

I don't know a single trans woman who didn't know she would face a stark increase in misogyny when she started transition. I don't know a single trans woman who's ever seemed to think "I didn't know I would face misogyny too!" I've never met a trans woman who thought she should be exempt from misogyny because of her transness

and yet far far too many TMEs seem to think we are naive to the challenges of womanhood, that we are taken aback by them and regret opening ourselves up to them. the trans women I know embrace womanhood fully, difficulties and all. transfeminism is a movement of women planting our flags within womanhood and fighting misogyny. we are not keeping one foot in some exit door in case the going gets too tough. we are taking an active role in combatting the forces that oppress us as women

(and, by the way, there is no exit door the way a lot of people seem to think there is. there is no coming back from being a tranny in the eyes of the patriarchy. our womanhood is no more a removable costume than anyone else's)

The transandrodork use of the word "terf" and "tirf" is actually fascinating because they use it in a completely different way than what terf actually means. Like their usage genuinely makes no sense. They're calling trans women talking about how they suffer under transmisogyny "terf" and that's contradictory. A terf is a specific thing. A terf doesn't think transmisogyny is real, hell a terf hardly thinks of trans women as human. It just doesn't make any sense.

It really does flashbacks to the various years of these types of people doing all the weird shenanigans like "don't call them terfs call them farts!" or how they'd call an average dude being transphobic a "terf" and people would point out that the guy is anti-feminist. These are those people who never understood what terf meant in the first place, these are the people who never understood the violence and bigotry terf ideology spreads, these are the people who don't actually know the feminist history that lead to the development of terf ideology.

These people just know terf is a mean, bad thing and if I think people are mean and bad then that's a terf! Hence them calling transfeminists they don't like terfs.
