Some ways biphobia shows up in gay romance novels:

Every man who dated/married/had a kid with a woman and then got together with a man actually being gay (this is primarily something that becomes biphobic when it happens in aggregate, not a single instance)

A man realizing he is attracted to men after having previously been with women and everybody immediately deciding his sexuality is gay (especially if bisexuality is not presented as a possibility)

Bisexuality being presented as gay-lite or a transition phase before someone becomes "really gay"

Bisexuality being presented as transphobic, limiting, or discriminatory

Bisexual characters being presented as less trustworthy, more likely to cheat, etc.

Bisexual characters being presented as more promiscuous

Are butches butches because they love femmes or because there's something about our gender expression? It would seem to be just sort of a moot point, like how many angels can dance on the head of a pin; which came first, the butchness or the lesbianism? Except that there's another one of these great misunderstandings, if you simply identify that butch and femme go together like love and marriage, and horse and carriage, soup and sandwich, then it leaves out butches who are attracted to other butches. It leaves out femmes who want to be with other femmes. It leaves out bisexual butches. It leaves no area at all to define why some women are so masculine and yet are heterosexual. To me, being butch doesn't mean what you do in bed. I mean to be butch on the street, that's what being butch is to me.

one of the biggest indicators that biphobia is still raging through the queer community is that people act like chappell roan is god’s gift to sapphics for writing mainstream songs about being queer as if we’ve never had an openly gay female artist before while women like lady gaga and kesha and doechii are just treated like allies to the community despite literally being bisexual like you’re not slick how obvious it is y’all think lesbianism is a more valid form of queerness than bisexuality, these women are not allies they are PART OF YOUR COMMUNITY. i want to remind our fellow femmes that our femininity is not defined by how straight people (especially men) define femininity.

you don't have to be skinny, or white, or clean shaven, or cis, or covered in frilly clothing from head to toe to be femme. you could go out in sweatpants and an oversized shirt 90% of the time with no makeup and still be the prettiest femme on the block.

It was a gatekeeping thing. Lesbian exclusionists were trying to rewrite history andclaim that butch and femme were lesbian-only terms and if gay men or bi people used them then they were being lesbophobic. So they made up a bunch of other terms and toried to tell bi people that these were their traditional terms instead and they weren't allowed to call themselves butch or femme.

The primary opening strategy of exclusionists and bigots in queer spaces is usually to try to take words away from people. This is the wedge they use to get their foot in the door and set themselves up better to attack a demographic and you can recognise them by it.

The shirt was part of the 1991 queer woman activism against the malicious portrayal of lesbian and bisexual women in "Basic Instinct"

biphobia is everywhere no matter where you look. people who are not bi love to create very rigid definitions of what bi "does" or "should" mean but nobody ever listens to how bi people define it. every bi person defines their bisexuality differently from the next person. most bisexual people will gladly tell you what being bi means for them, but nobody wants to listen to that. there are as many expressions of bisexuality as there are bi people on this earth. everyone experiences it a bit differently and that's okay- but you have to actually listen to us in order to get an idea of what that means and looks like. you can't just speak over and for us and expect to get a remotely accurate idea of what bisexuality actually means and looks like to bisexuals.
