Apparently my favorite picture books as a child were written by queer authors.  This brings me joy.

Look, most of the queer people I know, myself included, had pretty rough childhoods (for a variety of reasons, but being recognizably queer was part of it) and as a result, we are fiercely protective of kids. Not protecting kids in a walled-garden sense the way conservatives want, but celebrating the wonder and whimsy and weirdness of being a child, and treating children as people - people who might need more supervision and care, but people with opinions and thoughts that really do matter. So of course the most beloved children's books of the last 40 years are written by queer folx. It makes perfect sense.

cos there’s so many things to check and by the time I’ve checked everything I’ve gotta do it all again and I’m hardly looking at the damn road. can’t even listen to music in the car because of how harebrained I feel at the wheel. just constantly bouncing between speed and road and lane and mirrors and blind spot and road and signs and potential hazards and far away and up close and pedestrians. like man does anyone catch a break. god forbid I need to use a map. how do people listen to music or look at their phones I can barely see the r o a d. anyway there’s so much to do when I drive that I space and that’s no good either

metal family things I think about frequently:

- Gustav threatened to take Glam to “a doctor” who he was sure would “find a way to fix” his son. Glam immediately knew what this meant. He’s been there before. (IMO probably some kind of psychologist or medical doctor who employ Christianity as a means of control.)

- I know likely this will be revealed with time, but I want to know how Glam and Ches found each other again after the events of S2 ep5. How long did it take before they reunited? What did it look like????

- Glam’s name still being Sebastian Shvagenbagen officially. It follows him.

- ughhhh im sick i need a full song from just glam and ches,,, a violin/guitar one would be so cool (been listening to Smell Like Cherry on repeat)

- Glam having some sort of hallucinatory and/or paranoid disorder. It would explain why his eyes are so wide all the time, why he’s so intense about knowing where his kids are and monitoring their Internet activity, and could definitely have roots in Gustav’s abuse but also behaviors that fueled the abuse. Like the scene where he says “you’re laughing at me” even though his son is crying. It would also explain why he’s a lot more intense in his twenties, and why he exhibits knowledge of such disorders and even has the according medicine at his house.

sucks that that guy scraped ao3 but idk. people like him are always gonna exist. there will always be stuff to scrape off the internet but idk. i can't consciously archive lock my works. partially because its so difficult to get an account now but also because I don't think I should have to lock my works. i don't think other people should have to suffer because of a couple scalpers trying to make a quick buck. and ofc I understand people who do archive lock their works, plagiarism isn't fun or good and you can take the time to get a free account and it's hunky dory, but open and accessible fanfic and fandom have done so so much for me I can't justify locking mine. idk. also this is just gonna keep happening and at some point the scalpers are gonna make accounts and then there you go anyway. so.

Thinking about how every major city (except fort worth) in Texas is blue, votes democrat in every election, is majority liberal/left-leaning. It's driving me insane okay. The majority of Texans live in or around the major cities. Land does not vote.

75% of Texans live in BLUE!!!

This makes me want to put a toaster in the bath tub okay bye!!!

You guys don't get it, like if you're not from Texas you don't get it. Most people here seem to just wanna keep their guns and like not have to pay high taxes, but thats were their ""conservative "" views end. Texas is a minoriry-majority state. Dallas and Austin have some of the biggest LGBT populations in the US. To even call Texas a red state is CRAZY TO ME. ITS GERRYMANDERING!

Every one of those empty red squares gets representation in the state legislature. Those people representing 50 people and some cows are proposing laws. (I say this as someone living with cows in my neighborhood). And even then the districts are gerrymandered to break up any blue areas. My college town used to have a dem rep till they gerrymandered us to add more cow territory.

My state senate district weaves around 18 counties, including some partial counties, from central texas all the way to the border hundreds of miles away to make sure the absolute cunt of a state GOP senator we have stays in power.

If people outside these states want to do something to help us and stop the march of fascism you should be pressuring the federal government to address gerrymandering and voting rights. This cannot be a states rights thing. it's a human rights issue.

Might be even worse. Shout out to TX-10 in particular that dodges around the city of Austin to pick up all the rich neighborhoods around Lake Travis on the west side to go with all those red Brazos Valley counties.

My favorite gerrymandered Texas district is the one I used to live in, Houston's 18th. Represented by the legendary Sheila Jackson-Lee.

But look at this map.

It's the peachy thing. They literally just said "let's carve out all the black neighborhoods and also the gay ones and put them all together. Now both the 29th and the 7th are also democratic these days, but that's a recent development. (Okay the 29th has been dem controlled for a long time but the 7th only since 2019.)
