nothing fancy but hi! welcome to etoilespilled, a temporary side blog that will focus on reblogging "syscourse" stuffs and will mostly not tamper with other areas. this blog is ran by a system. we do not have an etoiles inteoject, but we like the character (and creator), and one of us who have c!etoiles as the faceclaim proposed the idea.

please collectively refer to us as etoiles or stars (not real "chosen" name so we can more or less separate our actual main blog from this blog). he/him pronouns will be fine. while not what we would use usually, we also don't mind star/stars , ninj/ninjs , or anything adjacent. be creative long as it is not derogatory! we are bodily a minor as of now.

The most irritating thing about pluralpedia is that it pathetically tries to include us despite obviously not being made with CDD systems in mind, or with the idea that they’re as important as endogenics. The clinical terms are always butchered and lack proper citation, because they’re stretching them to include as many of their fake origins as possible.

I’d rather pluralpedia just stay away from even attempting to talk about actual CDD terms. Clearly the endogenic community and whoever works on that site isn’t competent enough to understand them.

another weird thing abt blocklists is theyre usually all "ill take down users if you provide proof of harassment"

yeahh so youre comfortable with listing a bunch of people, a chunk of which are minors, knowing full well you could be the reason they get subjected to all sorts of shit- but you arent gonna care until after it happens and if someone comes to you with proof

the people who see threats and graphic imagery in their inbox after they got listed but deleted it in a rush? oh well, they didnt think to grab screenshots to show to whoever listed them, if they even know, so its whatever. (sarcasm)

for what exactly? for people to block accounts they wouldnt even have come across? have people forgotten how to just block as stuff pops up instead of needing the accounts of people (again, including minors- but also generally vulrenable people) that mentioned having a stance they dont like a single time handed to them?

if it isnt things like gorespammers then blocklists are redundant at best (again a chunk of listed blogs werent going to be seen by the people looking at the list anyways) and at worst leads to some teen waking up to gore and various threats in their inbox and/or dms. or fucking dead, if the suicide encouragement theyd also likely recieve pushes them over the edge

curate your own damn online experience without relying on someone else doing it for you

PBL claims to "take down" users who get harassed (far as i've seen), but ... blocks the user listed themselves? they didn't even THINK to consider the fact that if they block the side blog or main blog ... the user getting listed can't even contact them? they don't even THINK of the idea that simply saying "i hope they dont harass yall" will do jack SHIT. you don't reinforce them by purely saying them, but you make sure the thing DOES NOT happen in the first place as to avoid further consequences.

i'm sorry to use this as an example, but you educate people to not be thieves and murderers not by only telling them "oh yeah you'll be in prison if you do that" alone. you educate them on HOW to be a decent fucking person!

very good point. some main blogs wont be found then listed and blocked but some will. at that point how are they supposed to ask to be removed with evidence provided if they cant even see the blog of who listed them (again, if they even know who)?? figuring the people running blocklists accs get so caught up in "oh no, someone with a stance i dislike!" that they dont actually think much further than that

also yea if someones looking for a person to harass, or has that as their first response to an account they dislike, a "dont harass them" isnt gonna do much

Dissociative barriers don't, in fact, just "form out of nothing", that's not how that works. If there is "nothing" then the brain has no reason to develop any kind of barriers. Normal human development would see no reason to "erect barriers in a natural sense" because "normal" development actually works to do the opposite; it works to integrate parts instead of compartmentalizing them.

The barriers to begin with, develop to protect*. If there is no need to protect, they don't develop.

Ergo, "natural multiplicity" is not possible.

It is however possible to just not realize that you've been traumatized in young years. That's part of the reason for the disorder...

*protection in this context can mean a lot, ranging from stress to trauma, etcetera.

okay so one of the authors lost his license after violating a patient's boundaries. that is serious and we should be thankful it was dealt with as drastically as it did.

buuut... does that make the entire theory bad because one person was an actually bad guy? nnn...no. no. it doesnt.

actually reading the article points to glaring errors with conflating people with theory. not only that but there are three authors of the ToSD... only one lost his license and suddenly the whole theory has supposedly lost its merit? thats... not how that works.

the ToSD is the leading theory of dissociation, so does reality suddenly align with our perceived human social bias? nope.

the thing is though that Onno van der Hart didn't do anything to disprove his own theory or even did anything in that sort to lose his license, he lost it because he apparently touched a patient too much and there were general concerns to patient safety, which its good that this was dealt with properly, instead of anyone defending what he did... im sure there was more and i do not intend to defend him or anything... but none of that is even remotely connected to his work on the ToSD, is what my point is. so does him losing his license as a medical practitioner somehow directly contradict his work that was released way sooner than when he lost his license? nnnope.
