He wrapped his arms around her shoulders, one hand coming up to stroke her hair as he leaned back a bit to meet her gaze. “I know this hasn’t been easy for you. Just know you’re not alone. Not anymore.” His brow furrowed, though he smiled. “No more sneaking around? What happened to trying to get close to them?”
Her fingers drummed softly against his chest, her body just appreciating how it felt to be in his embrace. One of the worse parts of everything was not seeing him when she wanted when he was the one she was the happiest around. “I took a bullet for Sera,” she sighed, “If almost dying for them wasn’t good enough... Do you want to keep this a secret?”
