Healing Ginger and Cinnamon Tea
Hi all! During these crazy pandemic times I’ve found myself feeling unwell both in my body and in my mind. To bring back some of my inner fire and health I’ve been making this tea twice a day and it’s become a huge part of my self care ritual. I don’t think this is a new or innovative recipe, but for those of you looking for some heat during these cold months it might be just what you need.
For this recipe you’ll need
- 1 inch of fresh ginger root, chopped (I eyeball it)
- 1 tsp cinnamon or two cinnamon sticks
- 1 lemon wedge (optional)
Mix all ingredients in the hot water and let it steep for 5-10 minutes.
Cinnamon has incredible magical properties and can help with spirituality, love, protection, strength, and prosperity. It’s also incredible for your health, being linked to reduced risk of heart disease, lowering blood sugar, and fighting infection and inflammation. Cinnamon also corresponds with the solar plexus chakra.
Ginger corresponds with money, sex, passion, healing, love, and energy, and health wise it’s been shown to reduce nausea, relieve menstrual pain, lower blood sugar, reduce risk of heart disease, and is also an anti-inflammatory and fights infections, including respiratory infections. Ginger corresponds with the root chakra.
Drinking this tea really lights you up inside, it’s spicy and heated, but to me it feels like I’m giving myself a huge, warm hug. As I steep the tea I stir it clockwise and turn inward to focus on my intention and goals for drinking the tea and what I hope to accomplish for the day.
Anyway I hope this helps!
